I'm confused... Did you intend to reply to a different thread? Maybe I missed something.Despite a few angry boys from here me and the blade geometry itself were right, convex rules!
At least at cheese and potatoes and batoning. Tested.
Today I did another comparison test of my main 5 knives, I have thrown 'em onto potatoes. You know what? 4.5 mm convex blade did the best! No kidding.
3.0-3.7 mm flats were a slightly tight slicing. The one with a black coating was the worst because of the friction and the contact area (it's also has the widest blade).
Even the Mora Companion which is 2.1 mm thick by my own measure - being two times thinner than the Bushcraft Plus! - did worse. I mean, it's thin, it slices really easy, yet the control isn't so great.
So yep, convex rules. I'm really satisfied so far
