Photos Blades on Hikes

Hope that trail keeps the winter blues at bay until you fly to Mosquitoe Bay
You nailed it my friend. If I had my way I'd be heading there around Thanksgiving and coming back around Easter, but that's not in the cards just yet. These short winter days really take their toll on me, but having a spot like this to get up and out in the woods should really help. Plus, I don't want to complain too much, as I know I'm blessed to be surrounded by such natural beauty (in both places), and the long glorious summer days here more than make up for it 👍

Understand, snowbird from PNW. Don't blame you. Understand what you are saying about complaining. Where I live is flat barren, actually city. Not much in the way of scenic beauty

Headed back out there today. Clear skies meant much better views, but icy conditions. Nice viewpoint of Rainier, and to my surprise you can even see the Olympic Mountain Range in the distance (I'm in the Cascade Mountain Range).

those mountian pics are fantastic.....
Thanks! The views are stunning indeed. Luckily I saw a small foot path off the trail (that I just couldn't resist as always) that led me to that view of Rainier. I'd like to get up there later in the day at some point when the sun is on the other side shining on the mountain.

As always, I enjoy your pics and blades!!! Enjoy your newfound hike!!!!

I've been hitting the same trail as the previous page quite a bit lately, so I don't always take pics. As a bonus I found a little park that has a "fitness court" just up the street from the trailhead, so now I can get my daily pull-ups in on my way in and out (I found a nice tree branch to use at the top of the hike as well).

In this pic you can see the little mountain I'm heading up.

Thanks brother! I love how the view is different every time, and even changes throughout the day depending on the position of the sun. The weather has been unseasonably clear for the past couple of weeks, so I'm not sure what the winter has to bring. You never can tell with Rainier though. Sometimes it will be an overcast day with the mountain out and particularly stunning, then sometimes it's perfectly clear out and the mountain is shrouded in clouds to the point that you'd never know it was there.

I did my last three years stationed at then Ft Lewis, WA, and it was always funny to be out for out morning PT run, hot Summer day and be able to look at the snow on the top of Mount Rainier. Then there was the weather forecasting using Mount Rainier. If you could see the Mountain it was getting ready to rain, if you could not see the Mountain it was raining! John
PS Great photos.
