Beautiful country. Looks like the puppy was happy and energetic for a bit. Sucks about the totes. Remington 870, full tube of #4 with a full choke solves the yote problem every time

I usually hike with some form of firearm (especially on BLM land) but this is all reservation county. He runs three times as many miles as us going back and forth the entire time. Loves it!

We Rode over 35 miles midday to limits of trail system. On return, Cash and I set out on hike east from camp, while wife prepared prime rib. Unreal day with light winds. Forecast calls for Santa Ana with 50-70 mph gust starting tomorrow.

lol - I don't love the weather, but, these trails aren't gonna hike themselves the pup needs his daily dose of outdoors, or he becomes a sad boy.

5.3 miles today, just below freezing at about 28 degrees. Maybe an inch of snow on most of the trails. Only saw tracks of another person for about a mile of trail... I'm always amazed how few people get out on these good trails in weather that is perfectly fine for hiking.

I'm personally partial to them in spring just when the wildflowers are blooming, but they're in good shape for winter hiking so I'll take it.
