I’m the opposite. I let my wife convince me to retire in southern NM from one of the coldest, snowiest places in the country and I miss it like crazy. True I don’t have to plow, blow, or shovel snow anymore, so maybe I am just remembering the best parts through rose colored glasses and all that. . .I hate the cold regardless, I look forward to the day my wife feels the same and we get away from this crap - if I never had to shovel/move snow again, I'd be okay with that.
He has a lot of stored energy. After 48 of heavy rain the weather cleared for a 2 mile hike and some riding! Beautiful day

He's a goooooood Boi! you sound like a real good Dad, Thanks...Last one of 2025, was a balmy 11°F (with windchill it was around -4°F) - I think I carried the Sebenza the most this year for all our hikes:

He was able to find loads of pine cones today, just required removing them from the ice before he could chase them:

I don’t know the name of those vines are but I have felt their wrath and didn’t like it. I just call em sneaky tree climbing reach out and gotcha SOB’s. We had a new winner today.
there is a nasty vine like that down here, but not as many spikes. which sounds better...but really isn't as you might not see the spikes when ya push it out of the way or grab it. I call it a cat claw vine. not sure what its real name is. they suck and I cut them off whenever I run into to them.Same old gang went with me today but so’s to be prepared for these

Glad he is ok. Those emergency vet visits can be worrisomeDidn't get to go out yesterday, the pup had to do an emergency vet visit instead... but seemed better and ready to go today - nice 18°F morning hike after a couple of inches of white stuff over night:
