Bear and Son Gold Rush Bowie model CB00.

My understanding is that Bear and Son purchased the old Western 49 Bowie tooling and are now making the knife.

I am happy with it, and I will whack at some wild black berry vines and such to make sure it's a worker as well as a looker.

Not that I could afford one (even if you still made them), but staring at yours just now has affirmed my jealousy.

Thanks. I'll be making some round knives soon. They'll be of 26C3 at 63-64 RC. I was thinking of doing a pass around. Did this some years ago at Sheaths and Such. Gave the guys a chance too try one out.

I should add. The problem with most inexpensive roudnknives are that they are made from too thick a stock. Mine are made from .040 stock. grind em down from that and they will cut before they are sharpened.
