Blades upon Books - Traditionals

That's some rich Dam and Horn there Jeff, a great example. Interior Rams Horn on the GEC is a top slab. No doubt the Mufflons donated it, none too willingly mind :D:D

Gray's Anatomy is the book :)

kamagong, now there's a combination that looks like it's ready to get down to serious work. I really like the layout of this photo with the patina of the non-polished part of the blade matching the compound and steel on the strop and the mirror finish pairing with the bold white text in the title. Is that a Mora 106? Would you recommend the book?

That is a Mora 106. I've only now gotten this book, so I've done nothing more than given it a cursory glance. The book seems well written, and there are some good directions in it. However, I think watching videos on YouTube, and having a couple of specimens to study would serve you just as well.

Predictable, perhaps, but genuine —

Not my original Scout Imperial (lost in pile of leaves sometime in the 1960s), but a near-identical replacement.

I love the idea of this thread! OK, here's the first of about a dozen book/blade pairings of mine that I sketched out —

Good one! I'm devoid of paper books. Almost all went to the Salvation Army.
I wonder if I can take screen shot of an ebook and a knife? [emoji3]

I just don't enjoy reading books on a phone, tablet or e-reader. It's like having a digital knife… just doesn't work for me. (Then again, a "digital knife" could be like a light saber, and that would be pretty awesome, but would certainly be frowned upon in this subforum.) :D

As long as they keep printing books on paper, I'll keep buying them that way.

Ditto. I do a lot of "screen reading" in connection with work. So when I read on my own time, I much prefer ink-on-paper in place of electrons....

Also, while libraries are great, as many people discover at some point, they discard items that don't circulate often. So: if a book is important to you, get it on paper and keep it.
