I have had this book over 10 years,signed by the author in 2010 at Borders (now Barnes and Noble). I have attempted to read it twice over the years but only recently started to enjoy it. Author lives in Orange, Va and is a an avid Civil War historian. Tells of a man coming home after the war, in VA, but nothing left so he heads west to start a new life, away from old memories. So it becomes a Western too.
