Blades upon Books - Traditionals

This feller has done a nice series of books, exploring the woods and moors of Yorkshire. The latest edition in his series explores woodland right on my doorstep :)

Rebanks is serving up some great close-to-the-land and close-to-the-family writing like I remember from Wendell Berry and Fred Chappell. Nostalgia and sentimentality are not on the ticket, though. He's advocating for family farming on more practical grounds.

Nice
But that book will make you sad, all probably modernised now.😢
Sadly, the city has lost so many great pubs during my lifetime :( That slim volume records those that are still left unspoiled, of which there are many more in Sheffield, than in the nearby city of Leeds, where I live now :(

That book demands a Lambsfoot David! 🤣 ;)

Started this one yesterday (somewhat confusingly I have another book of the same name). I'm finding it very interesting so far. Some years ago, I had a garden bench, made in the 1920's from teak reclaimed from HMS Berwick. I was surprised to see the ship mentioned in the opening paragraphs of the book :)
