I suppose I could've posted this in the general knife discussion area, but I'd rather get some opinions from my ESEE brethren first.

I've got pretty much everything ESEE makes at this point and love it. Been looking to expand my collection and BHK has been on my radar for a while now.

My next knife is likely to be a BHK and I've only heard good things. There's no one model in particular I'm looking at for the most part. The Bushcrafter, Bushbaby and Frontier First Patch have caught my eye though. Honestly, everything they make looks great.

Just curious as to personal experience with BHK. They look like truly excellent knives.

I've used them in the jungle and on the farm. I have nothing but good things to say about their knives and the people who own BH. You will not find more honest people in this industry. In fact, the sheath tensioner on the ESEE-5 kydex sheath is a BH design and idea that we licensed from them.

If you ever get screwed by BH on a knife, I'll personally give you your money back. It just ain't gonna happen.

I dont own one but a guy at the Wilderness Learning Center had one and I got to handle it a bit this fall. Seemed like a heck of a knife. I think it was one of those models that you mentioned though.

I just got the BH bushcrafter before Xmas and it's a fantastic knife. I managed to get mine in a flat ground version with thinner handles. It is a very well made knife. I got a Spyderco bushcrafter as well and it's nice also. Esee's are my main used blades though ; I just thought I'd try something different.

Damn, thanks Jeff. That's about all the endorsement of BHK I'd need.

Hope you didn't mind me posing that question here. You've made it quite clear before you don't have an ego in terms of other knife makers and it's very refreshing to see. Still though, hope that was okay to post here, I feel like I get more honest responses in the ESEE forum than anywhere else on BF. Thanks again Jeff.

Its killin' me that they don't offer the Boattail Scandi as a regular model.
I'm dyin' to give my Ohio knife makin' people my $...

Always feel free to post any other makers or manufacturers knives here. We don't have a problem with that. Although we will move threads sometimes to the proper forum if we feel it will get answered better somewhere else. I find it downright comical and laughable when other forums get upset for someone posting another manufacturer's knives in their forum. I won't say which forum but our knives kept getting mentioned and the mods were coming unglued. Even threatened their own faithful members if they kept bringing our knives up. I loved it! It's almost like they think they own that poster and he will never wander away from their site to see what else is offered in the world, so they can't let any competition on their forum because it could lure the poster away. Hell, the forum member might just find out that all that koolaid they've been drinking is bullshit and realize there are better things in the world. Freakin' hilarious and egotistical. That's called thinking more of yourself than everyone else does. We heavily encourage koolaid drinking amongst our cult members here. But we also want them to know there are a lot of koolaid flavors, and for the most part, they're all pretty good!

Yup, I agree. They're all good (As long as they say ROWEN on them).:D

Hiwa those are some nice looking knives, especially the BH.

Hilarious!

I have the Bushcrafter and the Long Trail, and they're both great blades. Great bunch of guys too! I'm proud to own BHK goods!!

Owned one of their apprentice specials from last year. It was a quality knife with a great fit and finish. Stand up company in my opinion.

I think you will get good positive feedback on this forum... Although I would be surprised if someone was really trashing a manufacturer here.

I've heard nothing but praise for BHK - and they collaborated with Dave Canterbury to make the Self Reliance magazine, which is a pretty good quality production - especially considering it's not owned by any major publishing house or anything.

I don't own any BHK knives yet, but I'm hoping to pick up one of the Maverick Scout models at some point to add to my collection.

I am pretty sure they are about an hour from where I live part time in Ohio. I have been wanting to go over and see their stuff. I have heard nothing but good stuff about them.

BH has made some good moves in this industry, but the key to their success is not just making good product or making the right moves, the real key is they're honorable people and they deal that way with others. To me, that is the key to their "business model". They will go far and do well, IMO. In fact, I think you're seeing a lot of smaller companies like ourselves, BH and a few others actually becoming more of a market force generator than they've been in the past. Use to the big old compnaies controlled the market. Times are changing ;)

I've become a big fan of the BHK Pathfinder I, it is a nice big scandi. I have a small Frontier as well that is great companion.

I have the Pathfinder collaboration, the small Workhorse, and a small knife-of-the-month (forgot the name) from BHK. I find the fit, finish, design, and overall quality to be great. I'm very happy with all of them. They are great folks to do business with also. (Subscribed to the new magazine also.) Mike

i got one of the boattail scandis when they were a monthly special...awesome knife and some of the best people you will ever meet.

i've got one of their early bushcrafters. standard grind not scandi, blued blade, curly maple scales and numbered. very nice knife. :D

their Tiger Knaps look like great values, and most of their other knives seem fairly priced as well.

some of their vendors have models they don't list on the BHK site, like scandi bushcrafters and other goodies.
