Blind Horse Knives Opinions

I got to meet and hang out with LT at the Spirits of Steel show, and I must say, great guy. Scooter was there too, and I am glad I went broke, or I would have left broke. Pretty smart on my part.

The Boattail Scandi in one sweet busher blade, it should definetly be on the radar for those looking for a BHK knife.

L.T. and Dan are top notch for sure. Figured I would weigh in as well. Just a Rat a day or so ago and waiting for it to come in. This will be my first. It is the old Rat 3 D2. Really looking forward to it. As far as BHK goes I really like their knives.

Have been nothing but Spyderco for quite a few years but have recently got into the fixed blades. They are good people and make a good product. I have a Bushcrafter, Patch and Colt. I just bought a long trail and am waiting for it to arrive as well. Some pics...

I like my ESEEs a lot--a 3 and Izula, but I acquired a few BHKs recently and I'm very pleased with the quality and performance for the price.

I'll refrain from deal spotting, but there are some great deals out there right now if you look around.

I enjoy using smaller fixed blades--sub 3" blades--for EDC. These fit the bill.

I received a BHK Bushbaby over the holidays. It's a great little blade and O-1 besides. The back (spine?) in front of the scales is ground such that it makes a great firesteel scraper.

I wish the micarta on mine was matte finish like the scandi grinds though... Short of sandblasting, anyone know an effective way of changing polished micarta to a matte (flat) finish? I'm straying off the subject.

These are great blades!

I haven't been on the forum for a day or two so I didn't get to add my $0.02 until now and all I have to say is that I agree that BHK are great people. ESEE and BHK are the majority of what I own. I have a Becker or two and a CS hanging around here as well as several Moras but my ESEE and BHK's are my absolute favs and the knives I buy as gifts for friends.

First off, I own several RAT knives. Izula, AH-1, RC-3, RC-4, RC-5 (got traded though). Jeff and Mike I agree, stand up guys. I have been a knife junkie forever. Met Dan from BHK at a show after a buddy told me about them and bought my first Large Work Horse in '07. Long story short, I work there now. I'm the shop foreman at the Steubenville shop. Not only are they ethical business men, they are just plain good guys and very good friends. I travel 104 miles each day to live the dream of making steel and micarta dust and being an inside guy to a great small American company.

We too love other knife companies stuff. We all own other knives, RAT, Emerson, Buck, Swiss, and Landi to name a few. All good flavors :)

I have owned the Bushcrafter & Long Trail, both outstanding knives. I have also spoken to LT Wright (one of the owners of BHK) and we had great conversations covering knife making to hunting stories. A very nice guy to deal with. I will be adding the Boat Tail Scandi to my collection soon enough.

Again, great knives & great folks making them!

you need to convince them to have their own forum here

Are those potatoes actually cooking in that photo or just a prop. Fire looks like it's dead ;)

<snerk>

It could be someone that knows what they're doing and not cooking on a smoking fire. Man, the fires we cook on look like the fire Mongo lit the cigar on in Blazing Saddles. The bacon and eggs always taste like Turpentine!

On the list of "to do's" :)

Jeff ...thank you for the kind words. We really enjoy talking about and making knives.

I want to let you guys know how I met Jeff. A friend of mine had contacted him and had been talking to Jeff about knives and materials...my friend told me to give Jeff a call, that he was a great guy and wouldn't mind talking with me. I basically cold called him one afternoon to ask him some knife business stuff. Well let me tell you, Jeff answered all my questions and encouraged me to continue building our Business. Now remember we were another knife company. He told me anything I needed just give him a call and he would help me out. He has been and continues to be a great help to us. I can't say enough about ESEE...great knives and the most stand up guys you'll ever know. Jeff, you have my gratitude and respect you are a great friend. Thank you.

God Bless
L.T.

Likewise L.T. Knowing you and seeing your knife company come on board as it has makes us feel good. We like to see good things come to good people, and you, my friend, are good people. Onward!

Really appreciate all the input and responses. Looks like there will be a Blind Horse Knife in my future soon for sure. Thanks again everyone.

Well, I have been looking at BHK for some time now. They seem to get great reviews and a sounds like a stand up company. I popped on there January special "the bushbaby" last night. Can't wait to get it in my hands.
L.T. you guys need at BHK to get your own forum over here on BF.
