Blind Horse Knives Opinions

I've got two of their knives that I really use a bunch, a "MUK" which I like very much, I've processed wood with it, used it in the kitchen and made fire with it. Not a huge fan of that smooth micarta, but love that knife.

The second is a maple "BushCrafter" which I've started carrying everyday in my man bag and gets used for all the same chores as the MUK did. I did chip out the blade pretty bad battoning it, musta hit a knot. It's mostly gone now after some light work on a DMT hone and then a leather strop.

Overall I like them a whole bunch and would not hesitate getting another one.

when it was new, early december ish.

I have a few BHK's...now I'm starting an ESEE group pic as well!:D

Those look great. Kinda waiting for tax return time here soon and I'm gonna hop on a BHK for sure.

Great thread, thanks for the heads-up on BHK.

I'm visiting the US next month and I can only afford one serious knife purchase while I'm there.

Thanks to you guys, I'm going to be picking up a BHK Bushcrafter.

I now have around a dozen BHK knives. They are absolutely wonderful folks; and their products are very high quality. I've got a Pathfinder 1, a bushcrafter, two bush babies (one scandi), a wharncliff, two or three Frontier Valley Patch knives (one custom), a Maverick Scout, the Maverick Scout's younger sibling (forgot the name), a larger version of the BushCrafter (I'm always forgetting that name!), a Nessmuk, and a larger Workhorse....I think that's it. The next one I want is a Long Trail.

Their knives cover a wide range of bushcraft/outdoor usage - blade lengths, shapes, and grinds. I've seen some of their larger customs, as well; so they can make a nice chopper, too. Most of them are O1 (the Workhorse is D2); mine hold up very well for me and are fairly easy to sharpen. I'm no knife expert; but I think you would be very pleased with whatever you decide to get from them.

Edited to add: The Scout's younger sibling is the Colt!

I purchased (BHK's) March Special 2010 knife and it's one of my favorites to carry.

I later purchased some Tiger Knaps. Great knives; real down-to-Earth folks that stand behind them.

Got the Long Trail. I really really like this knife!!!

Well I'm still waiting on Bushbaby to come in so I found this Bushcrafter in the mean time. The BHK Bushbaby should be here next week so I'll throw a few pics up when it gets here.
Here's a comparison shot of a few blade that we all maybe familiar with.
Bark river Bravo 1, BHK Bushcrafter, ESEE Izula II. Now I need to go a make a kydex sheath for this BHK. :D

I have a BHK scandi grind "brumby" that i love. It has been a toss up between that and my RC3 my last few outings.

bought a First Patch not long ago with the maple scales. What a work of art, i gotta say. Its gonna be between that and the Izula that gets deer duty.

I've used them in the jungle and on the farm. I have nothing but good things to say about their knives and the people who own BH. You will not find more honest people in this industry. In fact, the sheath tensioner on the ESEE-5 kydex sheath is a BH design and idea that we licensed from them.

If you ever get screwed by BH on a knife, I'll personally give you your money back. It just ain't gonna happen.

for 25 cents each BHK is SO good they dont even do anything and make money lol

I have had a small knapp for a while now and absolutely love it. One thing about BHK i love is their upgrade stuff, it almost feels like your ordering a custom knife.. A++ for BHK

No doubt. Every knife I have from them feels and looks just like it were hand made just for me. Top quality stuff!!!

O yeah there top notch knives for sure.
There leather sheath is very nice. I just prefer kydex and wanted a sheath that would hang with the handle down.

I just got home from The Nations Gun show in Chantilly VA(about 2 hrs ago). When I was there, I walked by a table with a couple of Boat Tail Scandi's on it and a few other BHK knife designs.

I started talking to my Dad, who was with me, about how great the knife is and the differences between my Boat tail and the models that were on the table. A gentlemen walks up from behind the table and said that he over heard what I was telling my Dad. He said that the model I have, is the design that was used only for the first 100 Boat Tail Scandi's. I said, "Wow, you really know a lot about BHKs!". He said "I should, I own Blind Horse Knives, the name's L. T. Wright."

I have to admit we only spoke for a couple of minutes, but he was happy to talk to me about his other knife designs and seemed like a great guy overall. Between the quality of their knives and the good people behind them, I will be buying more knives from BHK.

Just paid for my Bushcrafter in green micarta with flat grind :D

It should be a fine companion for my camping and fishing trips this year.
