blue S90V Military

If BBS wants to charge MSRP that's their business. My question, however, is whether Spyderco retailers are "permitted" to sell their products by auction? Do the retailers need to enter into a specific agreement with Spyderco regarding how they can sell the knives?

I think I am just going to start buying sprint runs only, and pre-ordering 3 knives. one to keep and two to resell and get my knife for free

I agree that some of these price hike strategies aren't "fair" sometimes. But... I've always been of the mindset that if people are willing to pay a certain amount, that's the amount I'm going to charge. I have seen people buying the Orange CTS-XHP PM2 for $275-$450 on ebay all day. What was MSRP on that knife, anyway? If I had one, you better believe I'd list that sucker at $450... because it's worth that? No. But, because people will pay that.

Yep, you and a lot of others it seems like. Good thing not everybody in the forums thinks like you. ;)

You wouldn't be the first. However, many sprints aren't such a sure thing, either due to lack of desirability from potential buyers, or lack of patience from the reseller. Either way, it's a bit of a gamble.

Thanks, I appreciate that. For the record, I'm not gonna go buy up a bunch of sprint run spydies with the intent to flip them and make money. I assume that's what you mean by "thinks like me." My only point was that supply and demand dictate price, regardless of the product. I didn't mean to stir up any arguments or get on anyone's bad side. ;)

That's true for some sprints, but it seems like ANY PM2 sprint is guaranteed to print gold at this time. I think there's less risk in other popular models like the Millie and Endura provided the steel is high-performance. Believe me, if I had the cash and was a Spyderco official retailer I wouldn't have any qualms about commissioning an M4 PM2 or an S110V Millie....I'm sure they'd sell w/ pink flowered scales!

if people are willing to pay it, then thats how much its worth.

I dont think the price is that bad on the S90V Millie. Its cheaper than the upcoming Yojimbo sprint run in S90V wich is $299.95 and you get more knife with a Millie than a Yojimbo.

Not only do you have more knife with the Millie, but you don't have to look at that ugly Yojimbo!:D

sorry all, that is the msrp for the yojimbo, the price is not listed so not sure if thats what it will really be selling for.

...I kind of like the Yojimbo

$299.95 is the suggested retail price of the exclusive Yojimbo sprint; I'm certain Roger will be selling them for less than that. Also, CF > G10.

Sir, I'd pay extra for pink flowered scales.

Just curious, why is the Military liner lock a gray matte finish and not a satin finish like on the PM2? I like the satin finish better, it matches the blade and the pocket clip. Could it be because of the heat treatment process for wear resistance?

Because of this thread I had to order it...now the waiting begins. Have a stupid question out of the sprint run milli which one is more sought after the carbon fiber m390 or is it something else?

Well, the Forum Military have sold for over 1k recently, which would lead me to believe that it is the most sought after. Even the CF/S90V ones only fetch around $800 (only $800 hah). It is the most I have seen a Spyderco go for to say the least.

I'm going to give it a try. pre-ordered 3 of the Cruware Millies, I am going to hold onto two of em for maybe a year and resell, hopefully getting my Cruware Millie for free.
