Blue Stag?

Perhaps Case wanted to know how ugly they can make a knife and still sell it.

The only thing they could have done to make it uglier was make the blade partially serrated, put a pocket clip on it, added spring assisted opening and a knuckle-duster hand guard. Given they didn't, it can't be all that bad. Somebody will buy it. :)

Did you notice the catalog printing,"...Case's latest innovative color process." I wonder what they have in store for us next.

I like blue. I don't like this one in blue.

Yep, I agree, the blue is nice, but I just think that because Stag has such a strong following with its natural colours, along with the enhancing methods - such as burning etc its so hard to beat.
Blue being a very unatural colour ( when comparing colours in the bone family ), the same topic has come up with the blue on a G.E.C didnt it?....ahhh yep here it is..

I DO like the knife, I just think for a Traditional they have given us a lot to chew over all at once, the scale colour, the etching, and that shield.
All in all, I am a bit like you in the indecision Don, I would like to comment on it after carrying it for a month...as these things can grow on you as we all know all too well.
Good topic for discussion

That deer must've been on an extensive Acid Trip before it shed those antlers:D

Hence the Magic Mushroom shield:thumbup::eek:
:barf: is my reaction I'm afraid.

Ohmy! That made me do a spit-take and LOL. :p

Omph - that knife looks very much like the blue-complected train wreck I found glaring back at me from the mirror on the morning of January 1st following a fierce night of epic overindulgence in all manor of unsavory and debilitating intoxicants.

Even the venerable mushroom shield--a symbol of fine cutlery much revered by our forefathers and grandams for generations--is inadequate to the task of counterbalancing the sheer awfulness of that unbelievably heinous blade etch. I realize that "barf" smilies are generally frowned upon here in folksy land, but if I may be allowed to presume one small trespass upon the good moderator's kind indulgence: :barf:.

Looks like i dont have to worry about peer pressure making me like these fuglies!I throw up a little every time i look at them.Might be a big miss for SMKW since its their S.E.I dont know how deals like that work, but i guess Case got paid.I think you may be onto something with the acid trip idea. The blade etch looks like a flying deer and the shield a magic mushroom.I think i saw that flying deer back in 1971 after eating some of those schrooms.;)

I must own it.
Anything getting that much derision is destined to popular and valuable one day. Like "Members Only" jackets and the AMC Gremlin.
Join me brothers.

Tell you what Corey, YOU can go ahead and buy up the stock of them and you can laugh at all of us when you become a billionaire selling them off. :D

It kind of looks like the mushroom houses on the Smurfs and the color is right, they should just call it a Smurf knife and sell it to kids.

I don't know why I didn't see it earlier. With the blue stag and the mushroom shield it's quite obvious. We're looking at a pre-release of Case's new line of Smurf knives.

Yep, but the bigger mystery is figuring out who their target market is.

If you go look at the 2010 Christmas Edition Kodiak Hunter all will be clear. Santa gave the elves mushrooms and these were the result.

It's been a while since I read Dante, but I think there's a level of Hell reserved for those who bugger up nice stag like that.

50 years from now people are going to be searching high and low for the elusive case blue stag series. Bank on it.

Seeing those blue stag knives makes me turn green. YUCK. What a horrible horrible waste of short supply stag, to ruin it like this. :barf:
