BOAR HUNT PHOTOS AND STORY

TOM,DAVE,MY SON BLADE(AGE 12) AND I WENT BOAR HUNTING WITH KNIVES LAST NIGHT.(12 July 2008)

LONG STORY SHORT---NO ONE KILLED A BOAR EXCEPT FOR MY SON BLADE WHO WAS ALLOWED TO STAB A SMALL(90lbs BOAR)--

WE SAW ONE OF THE GUIDES THROW HIS KNIFE A CUT THE HEAD OFF A RATTLESNAKE---(NO %#?&@+!!---ACTUALLY HAPPENED.IT WAS NOT A GOOD KNIFE--BUT A GREAT THROW):D

MY SON DID A FANTASTIC JOB FOR A 12 YEAR OLD AND LOVES THE BILL SIEGLE KNIFE HE USED TO DO IT.

NO ONE ELSE KILLED A BOAR BECAUSE ALTHOUGH WE SPENT FROM 9PM-4AM LOOKING FOR THEM-

WE NEVER SAW ONE.(HEARD THEM---OH HELL YES)

THE DOGS "FOUND" THEM--BUT BY THE TIME WE GOT THROUGH THE BRUSH TO WHERE THE DOGS WERE--THE BOAR HAD INJURED 1-2 DOGS AND WAS NO LONGER THERE.(IT WAS PITCH BLACK OUTSIDE)

IT WAS FUN -TIRING-AND HOT.BUT I'M SURE MY SON BLADE WILL REMEMBER IT FOREVER--

HERE ARE THE PHOTOS OF THE FIRST HUNT---LAST "APRIL"2007

I believed this right up until I saw the kid's name was Blade. If youre serious, way to take the hobby too far....I'm sorry, but geez....

My son's Legal name is William Blade Martin

And the hunt happened EXACTLY as I said it did

Also--I named him Blade due to my starting Martial Arts in 1969(so this is not a Hobby to me)

Sincerely

Dr.William R, Martin

I believe it, Ive been on boar hunt with dogs down by Premont/Falfurrias, TX. In the two hunts we killed three 120-150lb sows. We used a cold steel spear and a modified machete that looked like a roman gladius to take care of business. Those are fun and wild hunts. I bet your son had a good time.

Caps lock- cruise control for cool.

(Cool story, and nice blades. I've always sort of wanted to do something like that, but then I remember that I'm on blood thinners, and have a long life ahead of me)

He loved it--and although he was afraid---He did it!!!!

I am very proud of him!!!!

William, they use the dogs to get the boar like cornered,or controlled ? Correct,am I ?
That hunt, although your son may have been scared or nervous, will build character, for his life.I truly believe that, there is nothing anyone can teach, that experience did.Congrats on the hunt, get that boy a soda pop !

Yes Vince

The dogs catch and hold the boar while you run in and stab it.

Tests your Courage and faith in your knife as well.(it was a Bill Siegle knife-so I had no doubts with it)

I am OVERJOYED at my son's performance!!!!:D

Thanks for your kind words

William,Thanks for posting the event & Congrats, again,to the both of you.Great hunt!

Good hunt. I mean to go on one of those, some day.

The machete-turned-into-Roman-sword that was mentioned has wheels turning in my head.

ok, ok, Maybe I am exagerating a bit;) . Just picture a regular hardware store $20 machete withe tip shaped and sharpened to a razor sharp spear point and you get the idea.

I am from Texas and everything is bigger in Texas, even exagerations.:D

Yeah, well I hunted bear with a switch...until one accidentally went off.

Really very cool. Way to get up close and personal with your food.

Check out the Condor "combat machete." It's pretty gladius-like.

Dr. Bill,

Awesome stufff! Congrats on raising a fine young man. Looks like you guys had quite an adventure.

To the doubters here, Dr. Bill is a great contributor to our forums and has 110% credibility with me.

Buhbuhbonky, I'm still waiting to see some sort of actual contribution from you, instead of the pointless, content-void, and vacuous one-liners.
