Boar Hunt Photos And Story

Dr bill, wow, I mean WOW! That is a great story to have to tell the faminly for years to come. As a father I can only imagine the huge amount of pride you must have in the boy. Too cool!

I have always wanted to do that. Was this a safari kinda hunt, or something you guys do alot of? I also really like that siegle he used. Looks like a great pig knife.

Wonderfull thread, thanks for sharing!!

well, your posts aren't exactly anything to write home about, Jonesy.

Quite the contrary actually, I forwarded his tactical steak knife review to my dad cause he gets a kick out of these reviews, so yes brian, your posts are something to right home about, literally;)

And running up on a boar with a knife in your hand IS a survival skill! :D

You got that right man!!!

I would go on one of those hunts. I dont want to be the one who sticks the pig though. Thats crazy, man.

Excellent Bill. I know you wanted to do this for at least a year. Great to see your son right out there with you. That is still one of the hunts I want to go on. Even though I'm no longer razorback knives, I just have a burning desire to kill one. Hmmm, I wonder why? :D

I don't have any problem with this style of hunting.

Here in Brazil we stab domestic hogs in the heart before butchering (it makes the butchering go easier). I've done it twice USMC Ka-Bar and a modified Tramontina Butcher knife. There was no hunt or chase it was more like drag-em out and hold em down. It is scary how easy it is to plunge a knife in to the hilt. Mac

As I mentioned before Bill...your son did a great job and it'll be a memory he'll never forget!

HAHA! That's awesome. My buddy went boar hunting and he showed me the list of choices for method of killing and it was like:

Shotgun
High Powered Rifle
Big Ass Knife and we'll put Kevlar on your dog

I thought the knife part was a joke, but I guess it's not! That's awesome. Way to go, and congrats to both your son and you.

I believed this right up until I saw the kid's name was Blade. If youre serious, way to take the hobby too far....I'm sorry, but geez....

Apologise...who are you to come here and speak like this?? He was sharing his adventures with his family with US...you should thank him. If you dont like what he does in his spare time, and want to comment, dont.
Dr. Bill is a great guy, and a friend of mine. On a side note, I think your sons name is cool, Bill. Gene

I dig on non-typical names too. My bud's son is named Gauge, like 12-gauge. Freaking neat. Amen to not having every guy on the planet named John (sorry any Johns on here :) )

Hey Bill, nice pics! Thanks for linking them. Glad your son got a boar.

Hey Doc, great story! Thanks for sharing it with us... I love posts like yours. I have to say your boy has some Cajones to take a hog with a knife. I'm not sure I could have done that at age 12... hell... I don't know if I would do it today .

Congrats on the successful hunt! You may have just won yourself a permanent hunting partner in your son. ;)

Hey--just wanted to say that I LOVED this story, and I think you should be VERY proud of that young'un! It has to take an incredible amount of courage to make a kill in that fashion, and in these times I think Blade deserves a lot of credit for his bravery! Always wanted to go hog-hunting, but I had my rifle in mind! ;):D

Dr. Bill,

Awesome stufff! Congrats on raising a fine young man. Looks like you guys had quite an adventure.

To the doubters here, Dr. Bill is a great contributor to our forums and has 110% credibility with me.

Buhbuhbonky, I'm still waiting to see some sort of actual contribution from you, instead of the pointless, content-void, and vacuous one-liners.

Thank you Brian,Gene and the others for all your kind words:thumbup:

Hunt happened exactly as I described it

and I do VALUE AND APPRECIATE all the respect you have shown in your comments about me(and my 12 year old son).

He was taken aback by all the nice comments you all said about me-and HIM.

Again---YOU ALL ROCK!!!!:D:D:D

Thanks again

Dr.Bill

Bill, great story, and I'm glad to hear you were able to spend some quality time with your son.

I have a 5yr old and a 7yr old boys, and I really am trying to get them into doing that and other kinds of activities. Its hard when most of their cousins have psp and play stations and thats all they do with their free time. None of their cousins are into any out door activities. I take the fishing and camping as often as possible. I sure hope my boys turn out like yours. Then I can die a happy man. (Later not sooner):D

That is an awesome hunt:thumbup: That lil guy got some serious stones to take that boar.:thumbup::thumbup:
