Bob Cargill Cripple Creek Knives

I've come to realize, by purchasing a pearl dog leg and handling other models, that Cripple Creek knives are of some exceptional quality. I was wondering if there are any knives that don't come with stag or bone?

Within this thread you will find a wealth of information concerning these knives. Do yourself a favor and start at the beginning of it. You will love what you find in here.

I know I am. Have not had the time to comb through the last 12 pages but hopefully will enjoy them as much as I have the first 10 even if I don't find what I'm looking for. Thanks to the creation of this thread and everyone contributing here otherwise I would have not discovered the beauty of the three-legged buffalo several months ago.

This series has representatives posted earlier and with better pictures, but I just wanted add another log to this friendly fireside chat in respect for Mr. Cargill.

Awesome knife Mckgreg! I just got one of those “Dog Knives” a few weeks ago, very cool cigar pattern! I was reading in a old I believe defunct thread, about some Cripple creeks being cut with a plasma cutter. I read what I read and took it all with a grain of salt about tempering and this or that. I was wondering if anyone knows what year Bob was cutting the blanks out like that. For reference it would not discourage me to buy a knife of that era, just curiosity wanting to know. I think it is pretty impressive the quality and amounts of knives Bob was producing as mostly a one man operation. Although I don’t know amount of numbers of knives produced and as my knowledge goes it isn’t greatly documented. But by looking at all the different club knives have always wondered the number produced per year, obviously different from year to year. In the 100s, 400s 700s I do not know.

You, Sir, have single handedly moved me in a new direction today...Fun, fun stuff!

Just got a few cripple creek knives and I’m looking to get some info on a 1983 2nd Anniversary 1 of 10. Can’t figure out how to post picture.

Coax, that is a very rare knife you have. I am sure we would all like to see it. It is documented in the 2nd quarter of the 1983 Smoke Signals. Page 6 I believe.

[/IMG] Love the thread. Learned a lot about Cripple Creek. Here’s the pic of the 1983 2nd Anniversary 1 of 10. Thinking about starting to collect these beautiful knives. Not bad for my first knife.
