I thought Made in Asia Magnums were 30% smaller?BKR-10 is the model of the steel which is stated as being similar to Japanese VG-10. I would guess that the dimensions are very similar, if not actual, to UF2.
While this is great, limiting production to 1999 pieces worldwide, seems to limit that reach.Nathan is now a freelance designer for Boker, this is not a knock off.
This Boker model provides an opportunity for people with less disposable income to enjoy the genius behind Nathan's design. I have two folders with Boker and I can tell you that company does an excellent job in their work with makers/designers. I love that Nathan and I are Boker Bros now!

Nathan the Machinist
Was it part of the agreement, to make it a limited production run?
If memory serves, Boker's Magnum line is mostly made in China and Taiwan factories.
Shouldn't be a surprise really.
I know Spyderco has a facility in Taichung Taiwan that makes some of their knives. Haven’t kept up on current news, but over a decade ago, the Taiwan facility was considered to produce some of their best knives (I have the Phil Wilson S90V Spyderco Sprig that was made in that facility, that’s my kitchen utility knife). Is there a difference between those two countries?
I wish they were more specific with location.
Almost like just saying made on Earth......

No real familiarity with knives made in China.
My initial post asking if the CPK family was moving to Asia was merely sarcasm, AKA: Smart-ass-ness-ism. I apologize to all who took my attempt for a laugh out of context. They do limited production runs of signature pieces by various knife designers. There's an entire series of knives like this.
They contacted me, and I liked the idea for this particular pattern.
I am being compensated but it is a small amount, it's not why I did this. This was an experiment for me, collaborating with them like this, with one of the goals being exposure to a different audience and also making this particular pattern more accessible.
We shall see.
Knives made in Asia are just ones that disappointed their parents by not becoming doctor's scalpels.I thought Made in Asia Magnums were 30% smaller?

Not sure if its the same place, but this site also lists the specs of the knife - states a 4.9" blade, where I think the UF2 has a 6" blade. And I just found where it’s going to be $119 so yeah I am going to get one for sure. Plus if it’s actually like VG10 I’ll like it for sure.
I'm posting this as a member of this community, not in my capacity as a mod. (I hope to leave it at that.)
I find it strange to have Asia listed versus the country where made. I recently looked at Boker knives which had the actual country listed, such as Germany and China.Fully agree with what you said
-Im not going to bring up politics.
I'd prefer Taiwan, Korea, or Japan instead of "Asia"
That's like buying something over here and it says "The Americas" what does that mean???
Seriously, I appreciate this message.
As far as the knife goes, I'm considering getting one for a friend who has decent knives... but puts them in the dishwasher
There's no way that's a 4.9" blade unless it's literally just been shrunk in all dimensions compared to the UF2, but it'd be nice to get confirmation from Nathan whether there are any dimensional differences, or just materials differences
