Boker/Carothers collaboration coming soon?

I get it. Maybe I'm reading too deeply between the lines, but here's my general take on it:

Sal Glesser has previously written about Spyderco contracting with Chinese OEMs to manufacture certain product lines and thought very highly about their professionalism and the quality of their products. Lorien Arnold wrote in this very thread that Boker is a top notch outfit and treats designers well. I note that the two Lorien designed folders produced by Boker were both manufactured in China. Now the CPK crew has licensed one of its designs to Boker for manufacture in China. Ideally, I would rather purchase knives made in the US. But, if three of the knife makers/designers/manufacturers that I respect the most are confident in the ability of Boker and/or Chinese OEMs to deliver a good quality product with their names stamped to it then I ought to be confident as well.

My main concern is that if I buy one of these my budget for other CPKs will be reduced by ~$120.00 plus shipping. What is a growing boy to do?
 
I took a Shiv 2.0 and a UF2 on a dove hunting trip to show a friend, he loved the Shiv but couldn’t put the UF2 down! He’s not a knife guy and will abuse an expensive knife so he definitely doesn’t want to spend the money a CPK made UF2 would cost, this is perfect for him.

And I agree with that completely.

It just feels somewhat odd to go after the subpar version. No matter how good it is, it still isn't a CPK.

The other thing is that these days I have been mostly buying only CPK or TRC and I limit myself to a very small "hobby budget" per year. So like you the big consideration is, is it worth digging into what would otherwise go to a "real" CPK?

why not? You can get em at wholesale. Hell, you could order a bunch and give em to your bros or even msrp them on your website. Sell em direct with your own extra certificate and a little baggie of Tanto's fentanyl for a premium!

Just a sample size of 2 . My wife can be spicy, but she's usually level headed. My friend's ex-wife was Puerto Rican and she cut him twice during an argument. 😅

Amazingly, they didn't get divorced after that minor squabble. That came years later.

I once was dating sisters who were half Spanish, from Spain, and their mother was Irish.
Their mom divorced dad, and moved to America....
The girls came here in the Summer.
First 2 years the older one did all the talking and translating for the younger one.
Things would go on fine....then out of the blue the younger would speak (in perfect English)
"I'm going to Cut you with my knife, and you won't be able to stop me" or something like that.

It was a long time ago, but all her sentences generally were about Cutting me up.

Must be a Latin/female thing, idk?

Still, worth it.
