Almost got a couple larger single-blades with the etch. Decided to see how the pens wear over time, not sure if I'll like the worn-off etch.

I cut some fruit and vegetables and let nature take it’s course on my Dos etched blade beer barrel oak trapper and it looks pretty good if I do say my self

I’m sort of there too Gordon. The reversed or frost etch (whatever it’s called) on the carbon blades does hang on a long time and affects the look of the developing patina. I could take or leave it.

Yeah, having an etch that wears to the point of almost being able to read it, but not exactly, will likely make my OCD twitch.

Yeah, having an etch that wears to the point of almost being able to read it, but not exactly, will likely make my OCD twitch.

I just returned from an emergency trip to the States. It was a rough trip, especially with the Covid constraints which international travel now requires. I did get to pick up a stainless 15 that I bought two years ago and my sister gave me a signed copy of Geddy Lee's Big Beautiful Book of Bass, so at least there were some positive moments. Anyway, I walked in the door, all jet-lagged and fried, when my wife mentioned that there was a package for me. The past couple of weeks were so stressful I honestly didn't even remember ordering anything. So imagine my delight when I opened the box and found this stunning curly birch Böker Barlow Prime! The wood is fantastic, with really incredible figuring, and the fit and finish is excellent. I will take some better pictures when I get out of quarantine and can get it in the sun...

These are fantastic knives, and yours is amazing. Hope it relieves some of your stress. I’ve had three of these knives, and still have two, and in my opinion, they have all been perfect. So…shhh…let’s keep them our little secret.
