Boker "Tree Brand Classic" & Solingen made traditional knives

Yeah I’m over chasing knives from 3-4 different companies. Spent a lot of years doing that. I’m over it. Only took me 14 yrs to figure that out. Lol.

Ooh - nice and shiny. Nice gift IMHO.

If it's like mine, the brass will turn, nice and dark, then wear bright as it rubs against pocket stuff and other things as you use it. It's my most favorite knife. Latest photo from the beginning of the month (recycled).

Received my Boker Barlow yesterday. A few initial impressions:

• F&F is excellent. Everything is perfectly mated, alignment is spot-on and there is no blade play whatsoever. I can't even find any tiny little thing to nitpick about in the execution of this knife.

• I would put the pull at about a '6' on the 1-10 scale. It's crisp and authoritative, without being excessive. Pretty darn perfect, imo.

• This knife is insanely lightweight. In fact, it's so light I'm going to have to be extra careful to make sure it doesn't take a trip through the washing machine in one of my pockets! Yet while it is probably the lightest slipjoint I have ever held, it does not feel flimsy at all.

• Despite having micarta liners instead of metal, the frame is still very rigid when the blade is open. I can't get it to flex at all with a reasonable amount of pressure.

• The blade was extremely sharp out of the box and didn't need any improvement at all. This, in my opinion, is how a new knife should arrive.

• On to the subjective part - I think this knife looks fantastic. I love the contrast between the black and tan, and also between the canvas micarta and brown burlap. The black liners are also a nice contrasting touch. I think Boker has succeeded in making a very good looking modern Barlow, while still being understated and classy.

Well said Smith hammer. I feel the same way about mine, enjoy it, can’t wait to see more pictures in the future. 😊👍

Anyone have one of these? If so, what's your impression? Barlow BFF, from Boker. 6" with a clip pouch. If it's as well made as the last few Bokers I've purchased, I think I need one.
