Boker "Tree Brand Classic" & Solingen made traditional knives

Great photo. In regards to the tips…been there done that for sure. 👍

If I’m not Mistaken that’s the Barlow Jose’ had “built” using Boker’s custom program. I’m sure he jump in and comment on it.

Looking good. Wonder what else Boker will do with copper. Seems very popular. 😎👍
Copper is heavy, but I really enjoy how it patinas. I’d love to see Boker make a knife with copper bolsters and a carbon blade.

Got any cool images of copper bolsters patina-izing? I'd love to see how they'll look.

I wonder if they'll be like the Statue of Liberty.

If so, not sure how they'll fit in the pocket... ;-)

Doubt it will ever turn green because isn’t exposed to the elements like copper statues or gutters are but it’s cool to watch it change.

Seemed the right thing to open up a packet from Germany  Contained a useful Oilpen. Here a Böker Canoe, single-spring in Washboard Green, photo is poor but the daylight has only really returned here.

I wasn’t able to go trout fishing much last year, hope to get away more often this year. Some stag for Saturday. View attachment 2061934
Same here, I’ve made a promise to myself that I’ll get out more this year. Lots of “good enough” water within an hour of me and some phenomenal water about 2.5 hours away.

Beauty of a knife too!

Thanks. I’m about 3 hours away from average over crowded water with stockers. 🤣 But then again, I haven’t been all that adventurous either. Plan to correct that when I retire in a little over a year and have time to go when the crowds aren’t going. 👍

The SFO copper and brown burlap micarta offerings have O1 tool steel, but they're acid-washed. Straight carbon would be nice as an option.
That burlap Micarta on the SFO looks really nice. i like the acid washed blades, it has an air of patina, but I’d love to see a polished carbon blade paired with the copper bolster. Watching the blade and bolster patina together would be cool.

I have just the one copper bolstered Boker pictured here in this thread. It’s pretty new, so not too much character at this time. I do have a modern folder with copper scales that I’ve posted in the “Modern/Traditional‘ thread. The copper patinas like a used penny. Some guys force patina copper with salt water and other material. They get a blue and green patina with that method. I personally like natural patina with normal use.

I carried this one with me today. It’s an awesome little lightweight folder.

Yeah, it’s pretty much a perfect pocket knife. It’s built really well, it’s useful, it disappears in the pocket, and it’s just gorgeous to look at.

It’s also very public friendly for being around non-knife people. I’ve had a few people spot it, make the “oh, you have a pocket knife” comment, and then comment that it looks nice as they ask about it.
