BOLO: Stolen/Missing SHMS::UPDATE 9/23/15 Insurance Claim DENIED Again

So Forager the package was signed for? Was it a single family home, apartment or what? Seems to me that if the PO has gotten a signature, they did their part. You sure about the buyer? Is the buyer a trusted person on this forum? You assume the PO for all responsibility, but is it? These are just some reasons why the PO isn't honoring your claim. They did deliver. The PO Inspector should have found who delivered the item and interviewed that person.

sorry forager, you deserve better...PM me anytime you need to vent...

BTW, do you suspect the mail carrier was in on the fix?

Couldn't the Inspector speak with your buyer to verify who exactly signed for it...when I've had to sign for insured mail I also had to PRINT my name...was this not protocol for all USPS carriers?

Makes me mad as H-E-hockeystick-hockeystick also! Despise cowardly thieves....arrrrgggghhhh    :thumbdn:

Yes, the carrier is at fault. The recipient lives in an apartment building with a mail box system and works during the day. I paid for insurance which requires a signature but not signature confirmation so a signature was required for delivery. The carrier should have left a slip in the box stating an attempeted delivery was made. This is the only acceptable action they can take.

Since originally the package was scanned as undeliverable as addressed and then 20 hours later ammended to delivered, yes, I believe the carrier was either in on the theft or was covering his/her ass since they $%#&^@ up and delivered a package to somewher/one without a signature. Regardless of their actions I am screwed since there is something in the signiture line in their scanner. That is what they fall back on and that is why they will not admit their mistake nor pay the insurance claim.

Apartment building and yes, the buyer, is a very trusted person on this forum. I have asked repeatedly for information on who this was delivered to. Since I did not pay for signiture confirmation only a signiture is needed for delivery, any signiture wheather is is decypherable or not is the only requirement.
The postal inspectors/receiving PO have not talked to the recipent, as I have repeatedly requested. They have a signiture in their scanner and that is all that matters.

Should download GPS location data from the delivery guy's phone and verify their whereabouts at the time of delivery. That would clear up some things..

Yeah, that blows man. Problem is a knife like that is not replaceable. Or hard to replace because it is the old series.
