Book of Eli (knife)

# 4. That was the sorriest piece of shit movie I have ever suffered through. Was not worth the dollars they spent on it for sure.

I'm with you there. I was so sorry I spent the time watching that movie when it was over.

The Road was the worst waste of 2hrs on a movie I have seen in my entire life. Book of Eli wasn't too bad as long as you were able to completely suspend belief.

Random side note, I have the exact blade from book of Eli (I'll throw up a picture if I remember when I get home)
I bought it probably close to 7-8 years ago in china town for somewhere around $10. Didn't realize it till saw the movie and saw closer up photos of it. I don't think it's anything special and chances are the prop guy found one in the same area and bought it for his collection.
Just a guess

The Road was pretty good.

Book of Eli was indeed a piece of shit. If you have seen worse, its your own damn fault for not walking out.

Damn...I just thought I would have been cool to see him baton through someone's arm!

I'm Mormon so I was completely dug "The Road" I watched the movie then went and checked my year's supply of food. Then thought about doing another year for good measure so I don't end up having to eat my neighbor when the world catches on fire.

I really enjoyed "The Book of Eli" Although unbelievable there is just something about end of times movies that interest me. I've watched it twice!

UGH, The Road, that was easily far worst. That was so slow and boring...

hell, i liked both of them. the road was better, though. shows there's more to it than preparation. right place, right time kind of thing. book of eli was mis-marketed i think.

I caught the last hour or so of 2012 yesterday when the internet went out and my streaming netflix wouldnt work.

THAT is worse that the Book of Eli.

Come to think of it, any film directed by Roland Emmerich OR Michael Bay is a candidate for the worst piece of shit film ever made.

Alright, BoE sucks, The Road sucks, this sucks, that sucks...start naming some movies you guys like!:D

I loved No Country for Old Men, but I also love Cormac McCarthy and I thought the book was amazing. I also love Oh Brother Where Art Thou. There are actually too many good movies to name. The last good movie I saw was Winters Bone, anyone else seen it?

The Big Lebowski, I have to watch it once a year. Pulp Fiction also comes to mind.

Damn straight.

No Country for Old Men was great. Battle Royale kicks ass. Oldboy, The Machinist, District 9, The Hurt Locker, The Departed, The Wrestler....all great.

There are lots of good movies out there. Hell, even some of the bad ones are fun to watch. Just not Book of Eli.

Unfortunately, I saw The Road in the movies when it was out. Every. Single. Person. in the entire (packed) theater walked out during the credits quieter than any other group of moviegoers I've ever witnessed. The only few conversations I witnessed while waiting for the lady to fight through the restroom line were a man stating there should be a suicide hotline number on the back of your ticket stub, and an elderly couple agreeing that it was the single worst film they've ever seen. My girl and I were the youngest people in the room, as the whole crowd seemed to be around mid-forties-ish. Terrible fuggin' film... :barf:

On topic: BoE only sucked by a little bit, and the positive points were:
-Mila Kunis is smokin' hot..
-Gary Oldman is a terrific villain, and can play all sorts of them (True Romance, The Fifth Element, and The Professional come to mind)
-Mila Kunis is smokin' hot..:D

-Nadz

Liked Eli. It was a post apocalyptic bible story. Just like King David slay a walking giant Eli slay many beasts and the evil horde saving the last bible.

Besides quoting the bible before a fight scene is bad ass.

I have a massive handforged 1095 version of the blade he used. The Book of Eli was a huge hit in the Philippines, where the vast majority of people are devout Roman Catholics. I thought the movie was ok, but the massive bolo (kamagong handle even) is badass. :D
