Book of Eli (knife)

I actually liked it. Got down to the basics for me.... which one of those people would I end being if it was me and what ways can I avoid becoming a sheeple. With a limited supply of ammunition people would have to resort to going back to basics. People had guns in the movie but didnt have the ammo to practice....shooting is a skill set. It GOT me thinking. What skill sets do I need to acquire to keep me and my family going. Also achieving goals and keeping promises.... sorry just trying to gleem the positives.

In the end it was a movie, no movies are REALITY even the the ones based on a real story... I just try to enjoy them for what they are entertainment.

Now this thread is gettin good! You own a MAC! My favorite knives just got better. And the wife on the road.... I wanted to punch her quitting ass self square in the nose. Anyone who gives up on their husband and child like that.... Well.

It's only shown in the movie, the father makes a brief reference to her in the book but most of it is focused on the despair.

as far as post apocalyptic movies go I really enjoy 'I am Legend,' obviously the book was better and I wish they didn't blow their entire budget before they drew up the zombies (worst CG I've ever seen), but, I enjoy the movie, the alternate ending is so much better than the theatrical one though

I pretend that he wasnt actually blind in the whole movie, otherwise it just ruins it for me :p

I just made a sheath for a guy that had a blade very similar to Eli's blade. Its called a "Jungle Master" or something. Can be had for like $15. Yet for such a cheap blade he still wanted a custom sheath made....

That's not exactly it, although similar. Eli's had different holes and was slimmer to facilitate blade fighting.

I enjoyed BoE more than The Road which I agree was just depressing. I agree with Menace about the crappy CGI in I Am Legend. That just spoiled an otherwise decent sci fi flick for me.

I was OK with the movie, I can deal with him being blind but what ruined it for me was the fact that his 1911 magically had held close to 30 or 40 rounds

I am NOT ok with that

I didn't know he had a 1911 in the movie. I thought it was a HK? Movie guns all have 30-40 rounds.

For me, I have "Big Trouble in Little China" as one favorite, but th movie that cheers me up most is "Fifth Element" ...

"Split Second" does have humor that once you get past the bad monster mashup you have to love ...

^^Yeah The Fifth Element is a favorite for sure. I always watch it when I catch it on the tube. Other faves include A Knight's Tale with Heath Ledger, The Breakfast Club.
