Thanks man, I'll have more about this knife soon, this is a productionrun of the Topper I had in blade mag last year. For now all I can is it is made in El Salvador by Imacasa... and my family is all from there so to honor them, I thought it was a great thing having them made from there.

No problem. Nothing wrong with that. My Condors are made in the same place, and they work just fine and dandy.

Imacasa is world class. Apparently Andy Roy agrees because he uses them in his machetes. I have a 12 inch Fiddleback that is outstanding.

Here I thought you were trying to be Corey Hart.....
Actually, you have to aim under them because the water bends the light differently than air - so that fish you're looking at is not ACTUALLY directly in your line of sight. Also has to do with the angle you're looking at as well - if you're shooting straight down, there's no adjustment needed. I tried to bowfish as a kid....with no success. Had a homemade rig made from a tuna can bolted onto my 1970's Bear recurve. I wasn't a very good shot, plus the carp I was trying to shoot tend to inhabit some muddy water....basically, I wasn't any good at it. But it still looks like fun.

This is a pretty simple explanation, I think ;) :

The words made more sense than the picture.... Making it all mathematical and stuff LOL

Its a lot of fun, and a challenge for sure. Luckily there were plenty of fish for me to take many shots to start getting the hang of it. I didnt land the biggest one we seen... But didnt land the smallest either. Larger fish are (bigger) easier targets, but smaller fish are more abundant. I tried shooting both large and small and the one i landed was somewhere in the middle.

Straight down might be easier, problem is, once the boat is over them they scatter, and they (gar) are not slow fish by any means. Most the time we were shooting out at a distance a bit.

I plan on doing a lot more of this. Loads of fun!!

varies a bit depending on dissolved minerals and salts. easy test you can perform (with a stunt fish), then you know your angle.

you could probably even set up an offset sight, just for that task, then aiming is true :D

i'm pondering a new bow, with glass reticles/etc... one can polarize one of those too :D

don't cross the [polarity] streams!

LOL, i never been much for crossing another man's stream :D

You bowfish? What set up are you currently using if so??

We dont use sights, but if you get this set up id love to see pictures. Im looking into getting my own bow fishing setup now. But prolly just go with a PSE kingfisher and throw a zebco 33 on it. Tried and true and wont break the bank too much.

not set up for bowfishing at present. the fish here are poisonous i hear. everyone should move away soon...

on the other hand, i have a mega super polarizer for the DSLR and it's fun to take pictures of things IN the water, and with the right setup, the water nearly vanishes and all you see is a "floating thing"... turtles and fish are as magic. i'll see if i can dig something up that i did.

I still have a pair of SMC carabiners from the 70's, but never got into any real climbing. Rocks are nice to look at from flat ground. :)

Very cool! Good for him! I guess he's excited?

Very. I don't think it's much, but hey, a sponsorship is a sponsorship. My son is outdoorsy, and likes maintaining the integrity of it. He likes the idea of the colored chalks to blend in better. The white doesn't look so good on the rocks, you have to admit.

Yeah, the white chalk is pretty visible – especially on sandstone. I'm curious about their colored chalk formula. Companies have tried colored chalk in the past and it's never taken off. It was always a bit too slippery. Not sure why.

Didn't know that. I told my son that you're into rock climbing. He'd like to meet you one of these days. He lives in Lakewood.
