Being in the boonies does suck for access. I tried the Tmobile cell phone access route - too expensive esp when you go over the monthly "limit". Tried HughesNet (satellite) - it worked, but we kept having "access difficulties" for some unexplained reason. Then we got on with a fixed site wireless company - the signal comes from an antenna on a water tower about 7 or 8 miles away (used to come from a 400 ft tall radio tower 11 miles away).

Access is pretty good most of the time. Lightning strikes during thunderstorms sometimes takes it down for a while.

on the link search above, the SVIC company may be similar to ours. When I clicked on the service availability link, it came up dead. Usually these providers have a map that shows the coverage limits for a given tower set.

Does your internet work with netflix?

Yea over the limit would KILL us. We have used 537.19gb of data in the last 60 days. (it tells me 60 days instead of 30 for some reason)

Never heard of the SVIC, looks like they are the highest priced, with the lowest speeds... Great combo LOL.... Man im going to be like back in the dial-up ages if that becomes the only option LOL

The at&t uverse at top was the first one we called... No uverse, or any other options for us either. Also called Cox, dish, and even Hughes.... Who at first sounded like they were certain they could service us... then a few minutes in the convo changed and they sounded unsure, but still wanted us to pay right away.... Before they knew for sure??? sounded iffy, and then i did some searching online and found a bunch of complaints on the company itself.

Ill look more into the SVIC one... But its still looking like we'll have to use a cell phone.

if you are seeing it right side up and proper, your computer is not knowing the proper fonts (anymore), and should be looked at

Well, just dog-doo. Went to edit some pics to get them below the uppersize limit for the forum and found that I don't have a pic editor capable of doing that anymore. I used to use MS Office Photo Editor on my old system. I made the rash assumption that the new MSO had it as well. Found out it doesn't. NOT a happy camper right now. :mad:
 
Arrived at the Outer Banks last night...just knew I could make it on a single tank. Pulled in to get gas and while I was pumping, I saw this...
Haha, didn't make it inside but might check back one day this week! Guess I should have something in there for size perspective... It's very large, maybe 3x5ish?

We know the biscuits are going to be excellent, but I bet the waffles are awesome too.

I got to thinking, (not always the best idea) and I think I've decided to keep my 17, for now. I've never really used it so I should probably put it through its paces before I decide to give it up. But o really appreciate the offer NC
