Well folks, as most know, I move through knives pretty quickly, faster than I want, but they just do. One of the knives I've been yearning for was a Bose/Case lock back whittler, one came up for sale and so I sold my other Bose/Case yearly release, the Coffin Jack, which is a great knife but just wasn't there for me.

Which brings up this thread, I've owned several of the yearly releases,

and now a Lock back whittler...well, it'll be here soon enough and I'll add a photo at that time.

One other that has interested me is the Tribal Spear, perhaps one day I'll latch on to one of them, in the mean time, looking forward to that lockback whittler, 2005 version :)

Which ones have you guys and gals picked up over the years and do you use them??

I've owned 3 Norfolks but like you, I keep passing them on. They are great knives and I always miss them when I let them go. Still do.

Two of mine were lightly used by me before I sold them off. I kept the other one in mint condition.

I do want another Case/Bose collaboration knife and I'll probably get one some day. In fact, I was really tempted by your Coffin Jack/Custom Sheath sale thread but I just couldn't pull the trigger. I might end up with one of the 2015 knives when they are released. I like that design.

I'll take it!

Oh wait, you haven't received it yet.... :D

you have first refusal rights ;)

and thanks guys, these are very well made folders, looking back I liked to have been able to keep them all but in order to get new, I need to part with the old.

One telling point with me seems to be if I make a sheath for it, it has a better chance of sticking around, but that proves to have been an inaccurate hypothesis :)

Just teasing, Gary. I don't think I'll ever be in the Case/Bose club. Beautiful knives, though.

Watch out, Tribal Spears are addictive. I've got an ebony, an antique bone and just got a damascus bone Tribal Spear. That got me on the quest for custom Zulus. I've got an Oeser and a Taber on the way.

Check out the Lannys Clip. I've got a chestnut Case LC, and two customs. One Taber with some really nice red bone, and a Larock that is just perfect size.

I'm going to be the homeless guy with the best knives...

This is the only one I own. We live pretty close to Wilfred and my wife stopped in to ask Tony for birthday ideas for me one year. This is what I ended up with that year!

P.S. this is an uncommon birthday experience for me..... I still haven't figured out what got into her that year! lol

I've only picked up one. The Lanny's Clip in Chestnut bone. I carry and use it. Really, it's one of my favorite knives. It competes with most of my modern folders, and easily makes it in the top 3 overall.

The only other Bose/Case I've been tempted to drop the cash on, is the trapper that came out last year.

my only one is a tribal spear, normally way too expensive for me, but an opportunity to own this one came up and I took it:

I forgot to mention that I have a coffin jack, dogleg jack, wharncliff trapper and I think that's it. I did have a Yukon Hunter, very nice, but not for me.

I have the 2004 Muskrat (Antique Bone), 2005 Lockback Whittler (Stag), 2009 Norflok (Ebony), 2013 Wharncliffe Trapper (Stag) and 2014 Lockback Whittler (Ebony). I had but sold the Dogleg Jack.

I wasn't drawn to the others, so only bought the ones I thought I'd like to carry and use.

I've got a bunch of custom knifes and many production knives. The Case/Bose collaborations are by far the best production knives I've seen, almost equal to some of my customs. Of course the price is right up there too. Like everything else you get what you pay for.

I carry the WT and the Norflok a lot. If I'm going to be sitting somewhere where there are sticks nearby, I'll have the Norfolk or one of the Whittlers in my pocket.

The Muskrat and Norfolk are two of my most frequently used knives. I've also owned a couple of the doglegs and a couple of the lockback whittlers and a tribal spear. I'm looking forward to the new stock knife.

Thanks for posting those pics, Jake. I was contemplating doing the same when I posted. I got lazy though. :)

Really nice! thanks that will help with the wait :) My one concern is the smaller blades snap, as I've heard tell that they were somewhat on the weak side? But supposedly this one has 'good snap' ;) we shall see, hopefully by next weekend I should see it here.

Gary,

I Think I have the same knife you are getting - the 2014 lockback Wharncliffe whittler? The snap on the smaller blades is not an issue, at least on mine.

And yes, mine is a user. I'm sorely missing it as I am on vacation, but the Case Peanut is keeping me from going into heavy withdrawal.

This is the one, Gary! It really is!

(Can't wait to see the sheath you make for it!)
