Bose-Ho's are known to have a higher incidence rate of "Bosetoxication". And apparently it has progressed to the point that you're starting early in the day. :eek: ;)

This is Tony's latest EDBPC! I heard that someone(I won't say who but he knows who he is :) ) asked Tony why he didn't make the end of the spring flush with the tang and bolster at closed position. For one, if you attempt that and miss it, you will find yourself starting over on the knife, wasting about 2+ days of work plus material. But, if you hit it, it ends up looking like this.

Here's the rest of the knife. This is the best BP I have seen to date and is perfect in every way. The blade and spring is CPM-440v.

Don't know if its true or not but I've heard that doing it that way also gives a less robust joint. Be that as it may, I love the looks of a flush joint and really think it adds to the beauty of that knife.

Tony doesn't generally finish his knives this way due to the risk involved in potentially screwing it up. This knife is probably no less robust than any other he has made as normally there is less that 3/32 of space between the end of the spring and the end of the bolster. That doesn't add much strength to the joint. I would think it would be better to have the bolster sticking out past the spring to protect the crisp edge from being dinged in case of dropage, but that is my feeble noob opinion. Yur not s'pose to drop yur dang knife anyway. :)

I think it's basically just showing off because he can. :D
 
That knife is really sweet Tony. The flush end construction is reminiscent of of quality old Sheffield jack knives. I think it looks fantastic. The photos, as usual, are great Kerry. Thanks

I had not thought of it that way before. Sure makes a lot of sense though. I still have a lot to learn!

I remember hearing an old wive's tale about how dropping a knife is a sign that a man will come bearing news. Even without superstition, dropping one as pretty as that would almost feel like sacrilege.

The Back Pocket model is one of my favorite patterns. This one is 4 inches closed.

Every time I look at these pics I'm glad that Tony picked out and built the knife he did for me. I'd never have been able to choose. LOL!

The stag and bone (and pearl for that matter) on these knives is just sublime.
