Charlie I'm a little late as always but fantastic knife....I did receive an email saying that if you were to mail me that knife it would guarantee you and I $63 million each from friends in Nigeria...Or was that Florida ???, well either way please express the knife to me at once to guarantee your retirement...

Charlie- you have got yourself a heck of a nice knife there! For some reason it reminds me of mountain oysters, I’m not sure if you eat them up north.

Kerry- that sheath looks great with the cream of the ivory. Great job, I bet Jim just loves it!!!

Actually, I think you eat them down South. :D

I think a spey blade would be a more appropriate reminder.

Or maybe I'm just nuts. :D

My uncle used to put Rocky Mountain oysters in with the home made canned dill pickles to let them cure. I passed on that, as well as the chance to have them "al fresco" after they cooked on the branding fire. They are good deep fried, but what isn't?

I used to order them just to bum out my in-laws when they came to Denver.

It's already cold and blustery up here, but all this talk of Rocky Mountain Oysters makes me shiver more!! I'll think fondly of Betsy and Mike as I freeze my butt this winter :p !!

A bit more on that knife; I found out from Tony that the piece of Ebony that made up the handles is from the Gibson guitar factory about 20 years ago! I will have to find out how it was "liberated", because it is a super piece, dense and "buttery"! Instrument quality, obviously, and the Oyste . . .ummm shield just sets it off nicely
Now if my wife would just let me use it once in a while . . . . . . .
I know for a fact it works on chicken as I've said. Maybe I'll just have to enjoy my memories:rolleyes: . . . . .c'mon hon! It's my turn!!:grumpy:

I think the balls are in my court :D

I submit for your perusal, one each, one of a kind Tony knife made about 15 years. This 4 1/4" swell center whittler is a blow up of the Case 83 pattern. The customer requested that the pen blade be substituted for a Wharncliffe blade.

It is sporting some really gorgeous natural amber stag, blades and springs are ATS-34. This knife was made back when Tony had one Burr King grinder set up in the house trailor shop ("BoseForce 1") out back. This knife works perfectly and notice how perfect the stag is still fitting against the liners and bolsters. Absolutely beautiful!

Tony is an active supporter of the National Knife Museum and once again is donating a special knife to help with their fundraising efforts. This knife will be auctioned off at the 2010 Blade Show in Atlanta and all procedes will go to the National Knife Museum.

I only could wish for the ability to outbid Donald Trump to get that at Blade next year. Great knife and thanks to Tony for the support. I enjoy that Museum every year, sometimes twice a year, always something different on display.

Question???, Did the whittler come in for a fluff and buff? This picture after?
Jim

Yes and yes. I saw the knife before the FnB and it didn't look that much different. It had some light rubs on blades...nothing serious.

That whittler works as smooth as buttuh and was made before Tony started using bushings. He would have stamped it with "Prototype" if he had the stamp at the time.

The BoseForce 1 Era!!
It would be incredible to see a retrospective collection of Tony's career! That nice whittler, the NKMs, Kitchen Table knives (BoseForce 1/2 :D)! There is a book in the making here!!
