It is blade heavy and balances right at the end of the micarta.

I went into the Box-o-INFI for my skinny Satin Jack

With the saber grind, the BOSS Jack carries it’s full thickness almost the length of the blade. It only tapers in the last ¾”

The handle of the BJ is thinner than the SJ, but has some contouring

The BOSS Jack weighs 11.7 oz. Now for some measurements vs the SJ.

OAL ........................... 11.25 ...vs....11.5
Blade .......................... 6.2......vs....6.25
Choil to tip.................... 5.39.....vs.....5.14
Thickness......................0.217...........0.205
Blade width...................1.29.............1.27
Handle length.................5.02............5.18
Scale length...................4.54............4.77
Handle thickness.............0.71............0.74

The BOSS Jack is a stout knife, and will probably give good chop for it’s length. I might have liked the handle to be just a little thicker, like the SJ. You’ll have to wait for someone else to report on using it. :D

Great pics, thanks. Can't wait. Thanks for the balance point photo, really helps.

(Nice clean, well trimmed fingernails of a scientist too!)

Awesome...thx for the pics / comparison data.

Do you happen to have a DSF to throw in the mix as well...I'm simply curious.

it is a very good looking knife; thanks for the pics and detailed comparison.:thumbup:

seeing the comparison pictures has me wondering about a design difference and i have a general opinion question (not intended as negative criticism):

is anybody missing the lack of an elongated ricasso on the Boss Jack? to me, that is a very distinctive and attractive feature of the Satin Jack. when presented with a choice in the last Ganza, i opted for the TM, which seemed more "Boss Jack-ish" to me (minus the downswept handle butt). again, my question is not intended to be negative; i WISH i'd scored the BJack as well and i really hope it ends up coated and in the store. :D

Sorry, no DSF.

The BJ is a great looking knife. The original pics sold me on that. And the short ricasso looks better. But the thickness was my concern. I prefer the overall 'feel' of the skinnier SJ.

Jerry! Bring on the Anorexic BOSS series! :D

I don't really care for the groove, it just looks out of place - superfluous.

But, compared to having to buy an original SJ for a user - I'm elated. ;)

Can't wait to get mine, my own perfect trinity of fixed blades is almost done.

Groove lightens the blade, which is probably good for users.
Also allows the blood to flow more freely after you stab Bin Laden with it.

I just kissed the maillady.... My Boss Jack just got here. I love the knife but I must agree, that for my hands, the handle feels a bit small.

But as this is only the third Busse I own, I have to blame this minor critique on Jerry. It's his fault for spoiling me with two other great blades.

It's still one of the best blades I now own.
