BOSS Jack vs Satin Jack

Awesome...thx for the pics / comparison data.

Do you happen to have a DSF to throw in the mix as well...I'm simply curious.

I'll try to hook you up with a pic... Check back later. I believe that my BOSS Jacks just arrived in a stack of packages, and if so, I'll dig out a DSF that showed up yesterday and photo them side by side. Have patience, though, as I'm limited to using only my left hand for the next few days, so everything right now takes 4 times as long to accomplish.

Thanks Jaxx...no hurry here, about to engage in a battle with the bathroom (remodel).

Awesome! I think I like the BOSS version better, especially the guard. It is more vertical instead of ramped, and probably provides more protection from the edge. I wish I got in on a choilless version.........

Thanks Guy, those are some great pics and i appreciate the imfo. Now i can't wait to get mine in hand.:cool:

Thanks Guy, the pics don't do it justice. For those of you that don't have a Satin Jack, the BOSS Jack is the closest you can get without copying the design exactly.

I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:D:D:D:D:D

Nice comparison! I found the thing to look so danged similar but glad that my suspicion is right - the handle is a tad shorter - the way it should have been the first time. :)

THe post office was good to me today.!:)

One box from BCS, and another from Busse Combat!

Having read the review and looked at the spec's and pic's I am with Resinguy .... the original skinny SJ just seems to have the greater aesthetic attraction. In use, other than maybe the grip thickness, I doubt there would be any significant differences between the two. Nice way to review the knives without needing to use them ....

Perhaps I didn't make myself clear. The BOSS Jack looks great, better than the Satin Jack. But it is a little unfair to compare coated to DCBB. If the SJ was satin or DCBB, then I might feel differently.

But for in the hand, this skinny Satin Jack is superior. I just don't like short fat knives.

On the gripping hand, the BOSS Jack certainly is a better value than the current price of a SJ. That's why I would like a skinny BOSS Jack (and BOSS Street). I don't really need safe queens. I missed a great price on a user Basic 9 yesterday. I would have grabbed it and sold my pristine copy.

what happened to you? no freak INFI accident I hope.

No... Something sharper... Glass. For no apparent reason, an approximately 9'x5' wall mirror installed over the fireplace in my living room by the original owners of my house came crashing down yesterday evening. Frakking shards of glass everywhere, and I almost had it all cleaned up unscathed, until I went to tape up the boxes containing the larger pieces of mirror... Caught a piece that stuck through the cardboard right across the base of the fingers and thumb on my right hand... nice, huh? 2 deep gashes...probably could have used a stitch or 2 in each, but there's no point going to a local hospital's ER on a Friday evening as a non-priority case... I'd probably still be there waiting. I don't think that I hit anything that won't heal up anyway...no tendons or major nerves. Of course I wasn't sure of that when I poured the alcohol in the wounds! :eek:UCH!!!

Glad I never bothered to furnish that room... and I'm very glad that none of my cats were in there when this happened as it would have killed any one of them for sure if they hadn't noticed it falling in time to run away from the approx. 45 sq. ft area...they love to play, and to stretch out for naps during the day on the carpet in the middle of that room.

BTW... Nice pix & comparison, Guy!:thumbup:
Apologies for the minor thread derailment post above.

Thanks.

Of course, this just makes me feel worse about missing out.:(

...and may Jaxx's poor hand recover quickly and completely.
