Botach Tactical finally bit me!

No need to feel suspicious. Cougar is correct in his assumption that Botech is trying to improve their customer service.

When companies are experiencing a high or extremely high number of customer complaints, one of the easiest and quickest initiatives used to turn poor customer service around is to implement is a strategy where they marry, so to speak, a company rep to a grievant customer. This form of customer focus allows the customer direct contact with a single point of contact, while enhancing the interaction and communication between the two parties. For the company, it eliminates duplication of effort and the customer doesn't walk away with a feeling of getting the run around.

Re-rating after the issues is resolved is nothing more than another means to reward the rep that you're dealing with, and to increase the number of positive feedback’s on the company.

Let them resolve the issue for you. Believe me, they do not want anymore negative dings, especially when a company rep has intervened and they have the opportunity to fix the wrong.

After they've fixed the problem, you have the opportunity to RUN. . . .but don't walk ! :D

Gotcha, Gig.

I just called. I didn't get a live person even when I dialed "O" for "Operator" when it said to. So I poked around in Voicemail Pergatory for a while until I was able to leave a message at Ext#112 which is the one listed in her email. Gave her my cellphone number. The ball is in their court.

I thought about that. ;)
Then I replied to her email thusly:

Vilma,
Hi. I called today, but couldn't get a live person, so I left you a message at
Ext:112.
My phone number is (720) XXX-XXXX.(Number deleted for internet anonimity)

I understand that sometimes items are not is stock. I'm OK with that.
The part I'm upset about is that it took me 3 days of calling to get an answer.
The defective knife is already on it's way back to Spyderco. I'm sure they'll
replace it. It will only cost me round-trip shipping.

You guys have great prices, so it's a shame that you're so unorganized.

What did you have in mind for a resolution?

There are other knives I'm interested in, namely a Spyderco Chinook and Spyderco
Endura Lightweight. Perhaps you could make me a deal on one?

I think as long as you keep your order to only 1 or 2 items, Botac is ok. Pretty hard to mess up a 1 item order. Just as long as you don't try to change it at all.

What did they do?
They charged my cc immediately but never sent the item I ordered. They ignored all my email inquiries, and the few times I was lucky (?) enough to get someone on the phone, they promised to follow up on the order and "get back to me" but never did. Finally after a couple of months I just had my cc company reverse the charges. YMMV, but I'd suggest Caveat Emptor

Well...

Two days. No returned phonecall. No reply to email.

That makes THREE dealers I will never ever, EVER order from again.

The Botach lottery strikes again.

I seldom order from them and IF I do it's on an item that I HoHum if I get it or not.
This way I'm not disappointed.
It is a valid point to not support POOR performance.

It's a real shame that they couldn't even follow up with the email that they generated.
Maybe it was an auto sender????

Tom

And to think.....Vilma was "willing to do ANYTHING to correct the situation." It would definately take a BJ from Vilma to get any of my business!! :barf: ;)

NOT THAT YOU WILL BE SURPRISED, BUT:

Knowing better than to order a knife, I ordered a pair of pants and some paracord. My credit card was charged 4/11/05. NO delivery as of 4/30/05. "Confirmation" e-mail has no order number. The check "current status of your order" screen has no information on the stauts of my order.
SNAFU.

I can see it now. Every Friday night, there's the Count at the local ER, laughing as the meat wagons pull in. :D

I don't know what that means, but I don't work in an ER. I drive a Blood Donor mobile with tinfoil on the windows. Watch for me at your local Health Fair. :D
