I thought that was a funny joke when I first read it, but you were right. There's a couple up on the bay in that price range. Why buy direct from the factory when you can spend more elsewhere?Available on the bay 235 OBO

Is it possible to just get the scales from Buck? I didn't see anything on their website. The flat grind on this one is interesting. I agree with the above posters who advocate G-10/micarta. My custom shop has the orange G10 and I like it much more than my aluminum handled versions.
Took right at 6 weeks iirc.

I keep a list of who those folks are so in the future............ I can avoid themThe first listing was on the bay a couple hours after the actual Buck drop. So yes, spend more money and wait longer to get it. No Joke.
Not as far as I know. I guess you could always send them a message and ask. I inquired about buying a pocket clip one time and they said no. Never hurts to ask though. Is it possible to just get the scales from Buck? I didn't see anything on their website.
Understood. I'm sorry I wasn't clear in my post. In my head, I was thinking about those orange g10 scales in post #119. That didn't come across though.I'm sorry those were done just for the BOTM. They are not available in the Custom Shop.
I dont believe so.Understood. I'm sorry I wasn't clear in my post. In my head, I was thinking about those orange g10 scales in post #119. That didn't come across though.
Is it possible to get a set of g10 scales? Or order a different color set of aluminum scales?
Thanks!I dont believe so.
We make the 841 in a burlap micarta and a linen micarta this year.I haven't seen micarta scales on a Sprint.

We did re-design the pivot and locking bar 4 years or so ago.The Spitfire has caught my attention again. This one looks really nice. Did Buck ever fix the problem with excessive up and down play? I want to say that I remember they changed the way they do the pivot to fix the issue, but I am old and have a defective mind.
I totally understand but the saving grace are the four letters on the blade. B U C K.I'm sure it's a quality knife, but I'm more of a traditionalist....which is one of the reasons I like Buck so much. That thing looks too much like a Spyderco, for me. Easy pass.
