yeah that one was not well recieved. I like it myself but im one of the rare few. its a great slicer.between july 14 and july 17, Buck sold 392 of 750 FFG 119s... despite the forum consensus, this BOTM is selling much better... sold 4 short of 600 as of this post
Kinda makes ya wonder if there will be another 119 BOTM??? HMMMM.yeah that one was not well recieved. I like it myself but im one of the rare few. its a great slicer.
they have done nice spitfire botm in the past. i honestly think they are trying to go after the EDC market. its a shame because they used to make beautiful american knives. I should say that they still do, but theyre after the BO crowd. I would never purchase a BO as they are overpriced and boring.

I like Spitfires. I have three 722's: an SK Blades SFO; a Custom Shop; and an el cheapo standard 420HC, so I passed. Now if it had been an 726 Mini I'd probably had to buy one.
Spitfires are nice knives. Everybody enjoy their new BOTM![]()
Spot on Bucksway.I think of it as Buck has to pick a knife balancing a lot of different factors..Someone probably said "How about a BOTM with some green in it?"...and that was the easiest one. We probably make more of a big deal about it than Buck does..To make something really special for the BOTM takes long term planning to get all the parts blades, handles ect together and then actually make it. I bet we see a few really special BOTM's but the program HAS changed since it first started. Now that it is a established marketing strategy numbers in the runs has gone way up and what Buck charges over a 'standard' model knife has increased a little too. That's because marketing knows it WILL sell out most of the time quickly. A good comparison would be to a star baseball hitter.. When Buck steps up to the plate the crowd is on it's feet waiting for a home run! But sometimes it's a walk or strike out or maybe a single or double but everyone knows it could be a monster home run. Even a grand slam!
Thanks for replying. I didn't mean to imply that Buck did it intentionally. Its not a matter of speed. I never received the botm email last month, or this month so far. I checked and y'all didn't become inadvertantly blocked, so yeah...I've been dropped off the list. I'll reup when I get around to it. Not a big deal.We don't remove emails unless asked.
