Bowie for wifie

No truer statement ever than----Happy wife, happy life.....😉
Unless like me no more wife means more knife in my life...😜....
Something poetic about it. Life’s experience that is, nothing bad meant.

Hello gents.
ATM I am going on not much sleep, so if this sounds discombobulated you’ll know why. I’ll try to make a long story short.
At the time we talked to Mr. Harrison about making the blade for my wife, we, and his family, were unaware that Mr. Harrison was in the beginning stages of Alzheimer’s. In just a few short months he went down fast. After my last conversation with him, I told my wife something was wrong. After failed attempts to reach him, I was contacted by his son and he explained the situation. Mr. Harrison had already passed away. His son was very kind and refunded our deposit.
So, the search continued.
I had purchased my knife from Lon Humphrey called the Gunfighter Bowie. My wife liked the looks of mine and said she would be happy with the same. They had sold out, but Lon had released another line of Bowies patterned after one of his favorite old school Bowie designers Samuel Bell. He called it the Bell Bowie. My better half liked the looks of it and we looked at old photos of Samuel Bell’s original creations. She loves history, and really liked the old school design so she picked out which one she wanted. It’s lighter than the Gunfighter and has the blade length she was looking for. Also has a smaller handle which fits her hand better. She’s very happy with her decision.
The Humphrey Bell Bowie is the bottom one. Gunfighter on top.

Cannot go wrong with Lon’s work. Nice knives and I hope it served her well and will continue to do so.

The bottom one is technically a dropped point not a clip point hence not a Bowie, right??

Bringing this up to learn not to argue hence these things at the end of the previous sentence "?".

No rule that a Bowie must be clipped -

.

The knives that Rezin Bowie designed/commissioned are more straight back or mildly clipped than anything. Rezin was the knife man of the family, Jim Bowie basically just got handed a knife.

The Forrest knife, which is thought to be the closest to the real Bowie, is a complex knife, just a little plain at first glance -

It has a tremendous amount of complex tapering, etc.... Everyone that handles it, comes back with the thought that it's a serious fighting knife.

Edit - long video on it -

.
