Bowie mania, let's see the Bowies.

That guard! Wowza.

Oi...I love this thread!

My Bowies are mostly SP-10s (Gave many away, not because I hate them, but because my friends and family needed them. It made most of their incidents "Minor Events" instead of major events. Like needing to cut trees to get a car out of a hole, make a fire by batoning wood when the car goes in the ditch or the snow machine/4wheeler dies, and a few others.) The SP-10 is a super work horse of a knife. And the SP-5 one I have. (Non sharpen Swedge, as I live in an "EVIL DAGGER!!!" state.)

Then what I call bowie pattern CS Maurders...only got 3 of them...one hollow ground and the other two scraped up to heck finish (Some call it stone wash but I hate it), those see light to medium (people call my knife use HARD AND HEAVY when I use them) duty and large critter cutting seasons. The Hollow Ground is the camp knife for critter and violent veggie slicing and dicing. Still one goes in my "Rotation" and big critter hunts.

Um...Ka-bar and other military style knives are "Bowie" types. Really the American Bowie Pattern is really a great knife design in its own right!

My OKC RDs...um...some say its Bowie type. I use my RD-9s for my light larger blades, the SP-5 goes to the ones I trust least. (Or they get an SP-8 if I really don't trust them.)

Edicus: OF course I forgot to mention the 3 BK9s...

Does anyone know why my Rich texts options might be grayed out and not clickable? I can’t add a normal pic. HALP

These 3 Spydercos are new to me and my Hinderer Bowie is in transit. What to tote…

These are all bowies in my opinion but the Gray Wolf is admittedly the least “bowie-ish” of them all.
The TGLB, while it is a drop point, is inspired by the Kabar mark 2 so i included it.
The Scagel and the BK5 are closer to what i believe Jim Bowie would have had originally but obviously i could be wrong.

For me, there's just something about being under the stars with a large, do-it-all "wilderness"/"Frontiersman" Bowie.

After years of playing with my Cold Steel "Wild West", Ontario "SP-10", Condor "Undertaker", and Down Under "Outback", I still wasn't satisfied. Something was missing. All were really good, but not "great" for my uses.

A few years back, I stumbled-upon Todd Hunt's "Big Bear", just by happenstance. At that point, I opted to go "Custom" and acquire me one. Immediately after receiving it, I started replacing my TOPS SXB (*in my truck) with the Big Bear...which is quite coincidental, as E.J. Snyder has said that Todd Hunt's M-18 served as his inspiration for the SXB.

Anyhoo, the T.M. Hunt "Big Bear Bowie" has become my go-to. The blade is ~9.5" of quarter-inch O1 stock, that will do just about anything in my humble opinion...
