Exceptional comments, Niddhogg. Medulla oblongata (no, not the Police song), also a worthwhile target, but harder to hit. Interesting design, appreciate the thicker grip, and might have to acquire a copy.
I don't recall the thickness but from here it looks like it would make a fine hunting knife if it's not super thick.
I like the general style of a bowie/clip point knife for my cutting chores as tip strength is rarely an issue..
I want one in SR101. Make that 2. Utah, 2!!!
I know i want to pick up at least 1 more BT6, also +1 on Canvas, but i guess G10 is better than nothing. I was suprized to like the Ivory G10 as much as i do. Would definitely get 1 more, just not sure about paying low $500s for it
Why is everybody selling theirs? Is it just for the money or because you genuinely don't like the design. Cause I got one, and as far as tip/grind/ergos go, think it's perfect. Tip is thinner than my Sykco skinner at .18" vs .22 of the Bt6. Which is killer imo, cause i like my knives to be able to slice and penetrate things with ease, call me crazy. And it doesnt feel like its compensating anywhere in strength with the thin tip and grind. It's INFI afterall. Would like most models ground like and have tips like this. Like the square choil, feels better than round to me. Only reason will sell is because mine isn't canvas, gonna strip if stays.
If anybody wants to trade a ivory g10 one for a canvas please let me know, believe ive seen at least one with canvas.
I've done it. It's not bad. Much easier with Micarta but it can be done. Sorry no pics.Has anybody tried to dye g10 on a Busse, How'd it turn out? Very much thinking of trying it with the ivory. I've dyed micarta before but not g10 successfully, have seen others that have though.
It tapers down to pretty thin, again probably by design. This is a really well designed fighter that could serve very well in any other capacity too.Does anyone have a pic of the tip. Does it get really thin or is it beefy like the tank buster?
Thanks TimWell, one thing the upswept clip does for a the design is to maximize cutting edge while reducing forward weight.
It also lets a guy keep the blade tucked close to the forearm in a position at the ready while well hidden until soon to be needed. You will notice that the BT6 upswept clip is the exact shape of a man's forearm, probably by design to match the rounded butt where your thumb wraps over it in this exact grip.
