Bowie Team 6 design discussion

Just some BT6 porn. This blade is killer.

They look very similar to the Swamp's R6 Mil overruns. I love the design. And I love a curved up clip. As far as function goes, well it seems more pointy and stabby than a regular drop point or straight clip.

Never seen this one, would love to find one. I like it!

Id say an inch or so behind the choil, right where my middle finger is in the pics

With the BT6 sale coming, i figured some people could use few comparison pics, and weight

I can't decide where I stand with the BT6. I love the handle and the shape of the blade but the choil/ricaso area is eating up a bunch of valuable real estate. From the leading edge of my index finger, to the beginning of the blades edge is about an inch and a half away.
I'd probably learn to live with it if mine had those pretty ivory colored handles though.

The choil design, viewed as a function of combat, might specifically be to produce a useful (yet not quite as comfy as we are used to) place to choke up on the blade for detail work while not creating/introducing a sizable snag point when withdrawing from maximal insertion in soft targets compared to a choil twice as deep. Think of it as the credit card covering the hole of the door latch you sometimes see in movies preventing the door from latching for entry/exit without a key or turn of the knob to delay the mission. Concepts of stealth can be pretty universal. ;)

Can't wait to see one stripped. I'd have had mine stripped already but I'm hoping that I'll be able to trade mine for one with different colored handles.

YES! The Ivory scales are my favorite. Absolutely stunning.

I wonder how much it would affect the balance of the blade if the edge was ground back until it was straight, all the way to the plunge line, and then maybe a small sharpening choil added. Heck, moving the plunge line back to the front of the guard would look pretty sweet too.
