BPS Knives of Ukraine

Yeah man that's where it's at! Chatoyance! I really worked that linseed oil into the wood with some new tips and tricks... Worked like a charm.

I didn't know it had a real name, thanks.
We used to use it a lot in the Guardians thread! :D ;)

I've put a few of these knives through a good amount of work. Overall things have been pretty nice!

One complaint -- the scales don't stay in place, no matter how tight (or loc-tite) the screws are. Been thinking of epoxying the scales to the handle. Has anyone done that with the BPS knives?

What should I use? Never done this before ...

Both of the ones I've recovered are epoxied to the tang. I just used the two part syringe of gorilla epoxy found at local hardware. That stuff hasn't let me down yet. Only need a wee bit. Make sure to mix it well (I use a wood bbq skewer to mix and apply) use clamps or put the screws back in. Make sure it's where you want it to be when you clamp it because that's where it's staying. Do whatever you can to make clean up easy after it cures.

Thanks for the suggestions! I did one this morning, made a bit of a mess, got it all cleaned up, and I'm really happy with it.

I'm eager to get the adventurer with bog oak scales all glued up. That one was really bothersome that it would never hold in place. Also I think the best looking and most useful. So, a project for tonight I think

Might also be time to start considering liners..?

Looking forward to seeing them :)

I should have another look, but I may have all I need. Small camper, HK5SS6 (5" ss hunter), and savage.
And the empty sheath for my OKC bc field.

I've started buying them as gifts now!😁 The one I really want is the Hephaestus πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜ŽπŸ‘
Still unavailable! I'm in luck there; I don't really want one.
I guess the HK4 has escaped me because it looks like a sawed-off savage. But they have that in D2 now, I see.
I'm up in the air between a couple but will eventually choose one.... along with another savage as a gift for someone because it's just that darn good.
I think my savage is going to be a great favorite once I've gotten a handle back on it.
I keep stepping on that bit of gnarly walnut firewood from the pizza oven at the farm. I'll just saw through the center of it and see if I can get a couple of slabs out of it.

I've got a Savage ready to go in the mail, and will undoubtedly buy more πŸ‘

Yeah 😩 I have a HK4, but haven't carried it much. I wish it had the drop point of the Savage, and a handle without finger-grooves πŸ‘
