BPS Knives of Ukraine

I ordered it September 10, it arrived today. Sixteen days is pretty good. My HK6 SSH has joined my compact camper.

The sheath is typically snug, but a good fit.
I'm sure some will object, but I like having the dangler on the belt loop.
Dnieper oak on the big one; I think the little one was ash.

You seem to have good luck with overseas postage Jer  Glad that it got to you OK :) I like the dangler option, particularly with a large knife, and would use them more if I didn't have to concern myself with carrying discreetly here. I do have some sheaths, which only have that option, but the BPS style, (not exclusive to them of course), with two options is much better

I was extra lucky yesterday. I was waiting and waiting, and had to go out, and was waiting but had to go out again, and just as I was headed for the back door, the mail person knocked on the front door. She needed a signature and a printed name and address. I'm glad I didn't know it was going to need a signature, or I'd have fretted. I'm pretty sure I've never had to give a mailman a printed name and address before; maybe customs is trying to open its bottleneck?

I haven't been aware of a dangler on a belt loop before, so I would have given BPS too much credit.

I don't as a rule like finger-grooves, but these are almost as shallow as a classic Kabar's. Not as soft, of course. Anyway, I like it just fine. I'll take it to the farm this morning and show it off.

Glad you got it Jer, they have introduced new crazy rules here, where the knife/knives have to be delivered into the hands of the addressee, and packages have large stickers to let everyone know what is inside. Guess who has to pay for the changes?! 🤨

That's a nice-looking sheath, and I'm sure I won't be the only one admiring it

Looks like my Independence Knife is still on 'the vehicle traveling to the destination country'. It's been in this state for 10 days, but it could mean that US Customs has it. Last time I only got a notice after it emerged in New York, then it was at my door 2 days later.

As for the signature, it's because BPS sends their products as Registered Mail, and that requires a signature. It's got nothing to do with the contents, at least here in the US.

That’s very nice Jer. 👍

Decided to stick with the original sheath as it will go in and is snug, still not a fan of the dangler that much but I haven't come up with a fix yet...so that remains as well.
This 1066 does take a very sharp edge, seen here in cutting some free standing receipt paper from McDonalds, as you can see, holding the phone while trying to cut the paper without knocking the paper over isn't that easy, for me at least ;)

Doesn't it have a belt loop, in addition to the dangler loop Gary? I've left the dangler on, but carry it on the lower belt loop

That's VERY impressive isn't it? :)

Very sharp, like the other BPS knives I've received :) Sheath is the same size as the Savage sheath, but the leather is a little thicker, the brass buckle for the dangler is heavier, and the sheath is embossed with the Ukraine trident. The knife fits snugly, but it fits correctly

Beautiful!

Jack Black Jack Black I've considered just using the fixed belt loop but haven't tried it yet as that puts the handle up higher than I like, but, I'm still pondering the situation ;)

and yes, it's ground down thin enough and takes an excellent edge as shown by cutting the free standing receipt paper, which is not a simple task. The knife needs to be very keen in order to do that without knocking the paper over, holding the paper doesn't count, so it has to be free standing and very thin paper such as receipt paper is the more telling.

Right, I wondered if your sheath was different to mine Gary 🙂 I hope you find a comfortable carry solution 👍

It's a good test! 😎👍
