Very sharp, like the other BPS knives I've received :) Sheath is the same size as the Savage sheath, but the leather is a little thicker, the brass buckle for the dangler is heavier, and the sheath is embossed with the Ukraine trident. The knife fits snugly, but it fits correctly
Can't wait for mine! Awesome!!!

Came up with 'A' solution, utilizing the existing rivet on the sheath as a pivot point I cut the main loop short, cut off the metal loop of the dangler portion and glued that piece of leather onto the stub of the top piece that I left so I could attach it. Now I have a belt loop that swivels and has the handle at the height I like, not to low, not to high. I could have used a wider bit of leather, probably should have, for the top loop but I wanted it to at least appear as a part of the original sheath, plus I knew it would match the width of the stub at the top rivet area.

So, glued it up, punched in a hole once the glue set up and used a copper fastener to keep that glued area tightly together. The sheath hangs great, I can swivel it to and fro without it being too floppy.
Here's some images of the work done. The lower rivet is left intact as no need to remove it, it doesn't hamper carry at all.

All good now ;) and yep, quite sharp! The blade does stain/darken quickly if you let any water remain for any length of time, from the sharpening process there was a slight discoloration where the water was along the edge area of the knife, I took some flitz and it cleaned up easily.

That's a clever solution Gary, nice work :)

Thanks boss, wearing it around the house, much handier now and when I go to sit down, I just swivel the sheath forward and out of the way, far more control now.

Edited to add that the original belt loop was too soft and giving, not so great when you go to draw the knife then it folds up when you want it to stay put. So, I drilled out the rivets in the sheath, figured might as well get rid of both while I was at it and not leave the lower one on there. Took some heavier veggie tan leather and glued the ends together, punched a hole through that to fit the copper fitting that I inserted from inside the sheath through the top hole for the belt loop to swivel on.

Here it is with the copper stud through the leather before putting the belt loop on

Initially it was a straight sided belt loop, but I removed it and ground in curves on both sides but the top section is still at the widest point which rests on the belt, curves add a little something to the overall look and feel for the swivel belt loop ;)

So now, when I go to draw the knife it pulls clear of the sheath without the belt loop scrunching up, not too hard to do but overall a better carry than the small soft loop that was on there.

Now the original idea would still work for those that just need it to not dance about, so that can still be a valid way of modifying the belt loop system.

Very cool Gary. I love your leather work.
My Independence kinfe finally cleared customs. Well worth the wait
It's here! My guess is that the knife cleared the US customs around or about the same time
Congrats guys! Those are super cool knives. Wish I had ordered one.
