This was forwarded to me from one of the last people to deal with the POS.
Maybe you should hold on to those Duncans!!! Could be collectors items.
It appears Brad Duncan has ground his last blade. Several weeks ago he was offered a position in a machine shop and was going to continue making knives part-time. I have not heard from him for a couple weeks and discovered he vacated his shop and sold his equipment and materials. The job he accepted takes him offshore, according to his folks. It was a surprise to me when I found out this past weekend! We had several projects in the works and he knew I would try to talk him out of leaving knifemaking altogether.

  2. I'll be the first to raise the BS Flag in a hurry on this story.

Whoever you are quoting (probably Mustang or whatever her name was from the KF Forum) is just another Scammer in the wake of Duncan's pitiful troll through the knife community.

My advice to youis don't get involved - and this would include Posting Forwarded mysterious "from the Inside" messages about this criminal, his future or who has what knives for sale! Edit your post and delete it all - do us all a favor and don't pick the scab off that wound.

Yea that's what makes it fishy. Just seems like an attempt to put some sort of desirability behind Duncan knives.

This also does not belong in General Knife, but in the Hall of Shame along with the rest of that POS's story. On its way ...

There's NO mystery about the email that stabber posted...many of us know the person that sent it...and we know he was close with brad.

Stabber is as SOLID as they come and would never make such a post without facts.

Unfortunately, all this news would really seem to do is put the final nail in the coffin of any hope that people still needing either knives or refunds from Brad would be made whole. I realize that hope was very slim for a lot of folks, if it still existed at all, but still.... Now nothing gets put right for anyone who needed it. :thumbdn:

Stabber is on the money and an honest dealer and collector. A good friend as well. Also one ripped off by Brad Duncan. I will post below letters this loser Travis has just wrote to me trying to sanitize his relationship w Brad Duncan. The guy smells just like Brad to me. I've accused him of being an enabler-enabling Brad's thievery to continue under the premise of helping Brad make and sell knives to repay folks. A blatant lie over all. He's a profiteer and loser selling Brad's knives in places like Ebay and the likes. What a loser and a farce. How proud he is that he sold 212 of Brad's knives when almost none of the ripped off ever got theirs, despite this loser's claims.
    From Travis to Me:
No Larry, down here in Texas we know true bullshit and your tough talk has always been full of it! One thing I have always wondered-If you guys were so savy and knew Brad so well why in God's name would you front him money, especially significant amounts of money?? What you say about him in many ways may or may have been true. If you knew this then why-especially Neil who has been doing this awhile-give him any dough up front? We have a word for that down here STOOPID! You accuse me of enabling Brad but you guys let him get away with what he did without even lifting a finger. Believe me, that has been discussed among collectors, dealers, and manufacturers. So if he gets in the business again down the road and the dust has settled he will pull the same thing all over again. You and Neil were the "players" that eyes were on to see what was going to happen. Did I mention I sold 212 of his knives? Keep the soap and the bitching and moaning on the forums!

Another letter from Travis. You decide folks

I was able to sell 212 of Duncan's knives in 15 months without attending a show or running fancy ads. These were people that wanted Brad's knives despite all the negativity being spread in the forum world. Most of these buyers came back to buy additional knives which I like to think is because of my honesty and integrity. Yes, in order for me to bankroll Brad there had to be a profit on my part. He did in fact take care of many old orders which for the most part I shipped personally to the customer. There were a couple orders that attempts were made to substitute in which they regected that remain to be filled. The one stipulation I made was he had to work on old business while making knives for me. I noticed he took the path of least resistance and filled most of the single knife orders. It was entirely up to him as to what orders to fill and unfortunately your order stayed at the bottom of the list. I think your vieled threats only emboldened him, which means he must have known they were just threats--he is not that brave! By no means to I agree with what Brad did regarding your orders and others and my association with him in no way was a means to undercut those orders. I could have told Brad to take a hike and not even screw around with his problems but I have been collecting and dealing with makers over 30 years and realized this might be an opportunity to latch on to a pretty good maker by helping him get out of a pickle. It seems there was a log jam in every aspect of Brad's life, something you may or may not have been aware of. The accusations of drugs is a reference to the past unless he has been going to the trouble to buy fake piss! Brad's delivery was always prompt and quicker than just about any maker I have ever dealt with. He never led me astray, at least until not telling me he was pulling up stakes and quitting the business.
I think the folks have already decided in terms of Brad. I don't appreciate being lumped in the negative discussion but so be it. Clever had nothing to do with not being taken by Brad, just common sense and not being blinded by rubbing elbows with a celebrity knifemaker. At this point there is nowhere to turn for those that prepaid for knives to Brad Duncan. Hopefully there is a lesson learned in this whole episode that most of us oldtimers learned a long time ago!

I have been informed by the guy Brad farmed his web site out to that he has jumped town with no forwarding address. He let none of his outstanding custommers (those who had already paid "upfront" for knives" ) know of his departure. I am one of many who have lost money to him. If I could find him, I would prosecute. If he was up front and filed bankrupcy that would be one thing but as it is all of his claims and statements have come to nothing. If he ever surfaces again I hope to be there with a Federal warrant for mail fraud.
