BRAINSTORM: Knife ambassador to the public?

I think you can already look to the hipster movement for that ambassador. As annoying as they can be, there is a big move among people my age (30) and younger than me (I'm a borderline millennial) to go back to things that work. Analog audio, flannel shirts, boots.

I'm 16, I wear boots and flannel nearly everywhere, never thought it was considered hipster to do so.. It's just comfortable.

:D I wear a carhartt tea shirt just about every day. No more offices for me!

I really like and approve of what Knife Rights is doing and accomplishing with regard to the legalities of knife carry in the various states and big cities. The closest thing to a knife ambassador is the Gibbs character in NCIS. What I want to happen is similar to firearms, that carry is perfectly normal.

As far as big fixed blades go with unconcealed carry, I don't particularly like to carry one in the woods let alone around town. But different strokes for different folks.

ALLHSS, you obviously have not spent much time around people to regularly take drugs. That is not "lowly" at all. Many are not normal people. Crazy? Who knows. But I think they are crazy to subject their bodies to these substances.

As I recall, I only quoted a portion of that post. Yes the response that I quoted was about CM, but that doesn't mean my post had anything to do with him or my feelings toward him, or after your posts, YOU. I grabbed a tidbit and used it in my post to illustrate my opinion.

The concept that anyone who openly carries a large knife that is within the law, does not take into account people's reactions to them or their intent. I can carry a sword if I want to in my state; I won't though. I won't even carry my Spydie Endura because it is too large for me and people react to my opening it. As CM said, most people are buried in their cell phones these days and notice nothing. But I notice. I also carry a firearm (concealed).

Added: With regard to regular meth users, they are generally paranoid (not forward thinking).
You referenced a person in this thread's specific situation in a really derogatory way. Someone whose struggle and successes in managing the struggle I respect. I consider that to be a lowly post.

CM doesn't need me to defend him. You have a nice day, I'm not saying your post makes you a bad person. I just strongly disagree with the content and tone.

1. ordinary people in general; the community.

After reading several interesting replies to my earlier post, it appears that some here are letting their love of knives override their common sense. Most on this forum carry knives because they enjoy their knives. However, it is absurd to expect the general public (which includes the 99.99% of people on this planet who do not care about or use knives frequently enough to justify carrying one around on their person) to view the carrying of a knife as a "normal" behavior. We knife people are few.

You think 99.99% of people on earth don't use knives? Or carry knives? That's your opinion and in NO means a fact.

I disagree with your opinion and counter with people ALL over this planet use knives every single day as tools. Many people carry knives and depend on cutting tools for their way off life.

Your opinion is myopic at best.

99.99% of people use knives. Yet 99.99% of people do not carry knives.

But of course, you are entitled to your opinion.

I can read just fine,"99.99% of people on earth don't carry knives" is hogwash and a myopic opinion at best.

As you can tell, your unpopular opinion is disagreed with for good reason; it is WRONG.

Visit a third world country (or any other number of first world countries) and you'll see that knives are as big a part of peoples' lives there as they are here. A lot of people in a lot of places carry a knife of some kind every day. Get over your attitude, or I can guarantee you won't be here long.

The most beautiful thing about opinions is that everyone is entitled to their own.

Are you calling the United States a third world country? Because the topic of this thread is not "knives in third world countries". My post is obviously in reference to the United States, but I presume that it was not clear enough for you. Next time I will be sure to clarify which country my post is attributed to.

Please stop trying to deflect. You said:

To play along, are you saying that the United States of America is comprised of "99.99% of people on this planet"? I don't even know how to reply to that other than to chuckle and shake my head.

Please stop acting like people somehow can't comprehend your comments. It's just embarrassing.

I guess he thought the good ole US of A makes up the close to 7 billion people on earth

Sigh.. Wrong again guy.

My mistake, there my Americentrism showed. Used "planet" rather than "United States". You got me on this one.

The majority of the Earth's population do not carry knives. That is a fact.

I have a few minutes, so I'm ready to have a look at whatever links or other proof you have to this effect, thanks.
