Brass is back on the menu... GEC #44

Will all of the #44s have the “PPP” etch?

That's a good question. I think it's only the first one's built but I never can remember whenever this question arises.

Reminds me of something Chris Farley said in one of his movies: "I know that! Why can't I remember it"?!:)

Usually, it's just the first group through the die and that's almost always the Tidioutes.

There are exceptions, like the Forum knife on the 77 frame, the "Stag Jack." I believe it had the PPP, rather than a run of Tidioutes. But I don't think we've ever seen a pattern where both Tidioutes and Northfields had it. Tidioutes are virtually always run first, therefore they are virtually always the "premiere."

Doesn't get much more classic looking than that! Can't wait to see the cocobolo.

These 44’s are nice looking knives. I’ve got a TrestlePines Topper, (I won’t get into the issues I had with it here) and while it’s pretty comfortable, the caplifter somewhat takes away from the ergonomics of the gunstock. I’m guessing GEC will eventually run these again, and if they do them single blade I’ll grab one for sure!

I don't think GEC has ever made a gunstock to my recollection. Will they make any single blade ones?

Waiting to see everyones thoughts once they have them in hand. Really want a ebony, just want to see how the pulls are before pulling the trigger.

Are the brass caps still going to be stamped? GEC will sometimes throw a curveball with the finished product vs. mock-ups.

After looking at this particular picture, I'm thinking more curveball than drawing?
