Breeden Passaround - Tyson Bushcraft - With a Surprise!

Hi Tony Glad you liked the Tyson. It looks like you had a great time out in nature on your camping trip.

Bryan

Hey guys!

I've been away for awhile but the last time I was here Bryan wasn't making knives, and now he's got this whole company going! AWESOME!! I've looked at your knives and I think they are great!!!

The problem is, which one do I get first!:D

Because, eventually, I'll be getting most of them.:D

great review tony... cool pics too.... i am really liking the tyson knife a lot...

well the knife I got in the mail today sure isn't as clean and pretty as the one on page 1 of this thread. Looks like it has be used a lot and not cleaned up. Dull as well.
I'll clean it up and take it down to the camp for some work and play tomorrow hopefully....
Naked, I beleave you are next. Do you want me to send it to ya or do you want to pick it up?
be safe.... Ted

As much as I'd love to come out and pick it up, I don't think I'll have time until later next week, and that might be to late for the passaround? I'm doing some extra fund raising this week for a local non-profit, so this is a busy week. That all right?

If the giveaway is still going on, I would like to throw my name/post number into the hat.

So what is the difference between this knife and the Blackwood Bushcraft, if any? Both look great.

sorry all, that I could not post the pics with the text as planned. Maybe a mod wizard can fix it!? This will get posted as two threads to accommodate the pics as attachments.

well things rarely go as expected. improvise, adapt, overcome...

the good news is, the Tyson cleaned up real well with some 91% isopropyl alcohol solution and with some stropping on my ancient loaded leather strop it was soon hair popping sharp (insert 1st pic here)
One of the boys was not able to go to school today, so I needed to stay closer to the house than expected. Being a cold fall morning (insert second pic here) we decided to try out the new unfired camp stove, up on the upper deck (insert 3rd pic here). Decided to make some jerky broth, since I would have the stove going, and the Tyson cut up the rock hard jerky fine. (insert next 4th pic here) Didn't effect the edge at all and I mean this old jerky is rock hard. That's why I decided to stew it!
to be contiued...

Well a new stove needs a new poker/pot lid lifter, so I went down to an old apple tree that the deer had pulled some branches down on, several months ago. The branch wood is about half dry, so it cuts and whittles harder than when green. The tyson cut the branch the rest of the way from the tree as expected. Back at the deck I started whittling a poker/pot lid lifter. ( insert pic 5,6,7 here) Got it whittled out just in time to check on the stewing jerky.
(pic 8)
My usual routine when trying out a new knife is to whittle out a pipe tamper tool. In so doing I use a lot of the same holds and cuts as in trap making etc.
The tyson did that chore as well as the others. (pic 9) all in all I like this handy knife. As an EDC blade it would work well, I feel, for all the usual EDC chores, as well as a defensive blade should that be needed.
Just my opinion of course!
After I clean it up again, Naked it's on it's way to you...
thanks Brian for the chance to check it out!! ;)
be safe... Ted
