Thanks for the comments. I had a good time at blade and it was a pleasure meeting and talking with all of you.

I have had the good fortune to have several Bret Dowell knives come my way and they just keep getting better! This one is my favorite to date. Just a tad shy of 3 5/8" with blade profiles that are perfect for my purposes. As I was held up on my travels to Blade this year I am grateful that this one found its way to me. The background pictures of the work of architect Gustav Stickley seem particularly well suited to Bret's work. Well thought out and designed, properly proportioned and very well executed. I believe this knife has been shown before but sometimes more is better.

Hey Mike, mostly been working on single blades but I'm fixing to do a couple of stockmans. I'll be sure to post some pictures of them.

I really like the blade profiles on this one. It looks like a perfect EDC knife.

Brad, your newest Dowell shows very "crisp" workmanship. By this i mean that all the parts are perfectly made and perfectly mated. I don't see how any knife could be more perfectly made, as everything is so exact, there is absolutely no room for improvement.
Bret Dowell is now the very definition of "Big League".

It is a nice one and falls easily into that excellent catagory. Thanks

That looks perfect Brad.

Thanks Rob.

this last one is awesome, congrats

It is indeed Max, thank you.

JC, The blade profiles are what attracted me to it. I have often thought the clip was the best all around blade for my purposes with the pen right in there behind it but requiring some modification. A bit longer and pointier. That is what I got here. You have to carry one for awhile but it may be the perfect EDC for me.

Roland, I concur, Bret has made it to the "Majors".

Here is my first and not last knife by Bret. A sweet Loveless style folding City knife. The quality is top notch.

Brett makes some nice kitchen knifes. I have one of those 2 from the bottom on order. He gets a big kick out of making them.
Bret asked me if there was any other knives I've been after, besides the EDC pocket knife
I told him I was asking a few makers to whip up a straight paring knife,to go with my kitchen stuff.
I know U guys know I really dig my kitchen knives & I use them alot.
So I showed him a few pics, measured up a Chicago Cutlery that I grab for alotta tasks & this is what he came up with & I gotta say,he nailed what I was looking for. A really handy ,no nonsense style.

Here it is with the trapper
