Bret Dowell Knives

Duane

Superb looking scales on a great knife. Congratulations to you for owning the knife and to Bret for the creation.

Great looking knife Duane! Bret's knives are wonderful to carry
and use! Congrats and enjoy...

I visited my close friend in South Louisiana last week and got to see his fixed blade made by Bret.

My buddy loves it. It was the most comfortable fixed blade I've ever picked up. It fit my XL hands just right. Wow, it was awesome and the sheath was impressive too. If I hunted I would definately order one of these. Everything about it was just right. Excellent work Bret! Thanks for hooking my friend up with a fine tool that he enjoy for the rest of his life.

His collection of hunting knives. Top knife made by Mel Sorg in Mid 1990's. Mel has passed but was a forum member and made rustic style knives out of D2 with a mean edge.

Thanks Nathan, my lack of computer skills are amazing. Forgot to mention, this is his first Cokebottle with a spear blade - marked "0" on the tang.

Simply amazing skills!!! Love that one, almost as much as my sway-back collection.

I recently acquired one of Bret's Saddlehorn's. Excellent knife, imo.

Excuse my poor photography, the pics are up to my normal low standard!!IMG_8273.jpgIMG_8276.jpgIMG_8278.jpg

Love the knife, but even more, the mammoth ivory scales. Congratulations to you and Bret.

Nice swayback. I wasn't sure if that was mammoth or checked elephant.

I could be wrong about it being mammoth. I got these from Charles Turnage as a special request. I asked him for lots of white and stress cracks, and this is what he sent. I like them a lot either way.

Thanks for the responses....Bret makes a killer knife with any scale material.

It looks more like elephant to me, but I'm certainly no expert.

Beautiful knife either way.

I thought they were elephant at first too but pretty sure its mastadon. Todds pretty good at finding that stuff. Hope you enjoy the knife Todd.

Great looking knife Todd! Looks GREAT! Bret does some awesome
work! Congrats to you both.
