Bret Dowell Knives

Bret Dowell knives are simply awesome. I am lucky enough to own one. I wish I had another one or two....or three.
I'm on the list anyway, for another.

Holy Smolley,

John and Bret those are awesome. Congrats to both of you!

Kudos to Bret and the new owners, none of these are mine. Handling Bret's knives was a good opportunity to help the decision when my name comes up.

Don't know who the future owner of this swayback might be, but if you don't _love_ it, please sell it to me.

Some great looking knives...that gunstock definitely gets my attention..

Really great looking knives!

I love that bone on the Gunstock, and I also like the CF, and the Stag on the others.
Thanks for the pics.

Great looking knives Bret! Nice pic's as well... That Sowbelly Trapper
with the semi-skinner and stag is right up my alley....

Bret,

You have achieved my life-long goal.

You get better at what you enjoy doing every day.

the pics are great but that bottom knife is even better in person, or it was to me anyways

Already posted this pic in Rick's thread but it belongs in Bret's thread too as there are more of Bret's knives than Rick's. If I understood correctly, most of these are going to lucky customers at Blade.

The first knife of Bret's I acquired was more than a year ago, from a person on this forum. It is a Shadow Pattern with Yellow Micarta. To me it is perfect, in fact so perfect it is a safe queen.

I got to handle a few of Bret's knives at last years Blade Show. I got onto Bret's order list and attached ( I hope) are three pictures of what I ordered last year and got at this years Blade Show. Brown Micarta, Shadow pattern with a Wharncliffe Blade. It has been in my pocket, except when I was on the airplanes, since I picked it up. It is my EDC and the F and F are first class. 6 1/4" OAL, 3" blade, 3 1/2" closed

Bret does excellent work, IMO. I was fortunate enough in Atlanta to have Bret help me select some ivory and Fossil ivory for my next project. BTW I now own 7 of Bret's knives including this one. I have caught the disease!!!!

Please excuse the picture quality. It is blowing a gale and raining like heck. Trying to take an outside picture in Ireland, without getting wet, is difficult.

I like it Rod, congratulations.
My favorite knife is a Shadow Trapper from Bret with that same Micarta. I carry it more than any other knife, and two years later it still looks great. Not brand spanking new anymore, but they hold up very well to every day carry.

Stu I understand what you are saying about the knife not being brand spanking new after two years, but heck, that is what I would expect. I think that just adds to the story behind the knife.

Jason, good to meet you fact to face. I will keep in touch.

Congrats Rod! Looks like a perfect EDC to me, too!
Sorry about the disease - I'm afraid there is no cure :D

Peter

I am hoping if I buy ALOT of Dowells, that it may cure my disease. Kind of like taking a bunch of Vitamin C when you have a cold!!!

No very logical, but I think I will give it a try.
