Man and just how I was imagining it to look too. Had Bret make me this 4" (closed) shadow pattern with carbon fiber scales and a drop point blade made from CPM-154. Can't wait to get this one in my hands. This will be my first ever custom slipjoint !!!!!!!

Bret, can you way in on the frame? Not a "back pocket". 4" trapper? Love it. More photos?

I took a bunch of pics of his knives and told him what I liked and didn't like on a shadow pattern, then told him to put a drop point blade on it. Pretty sure he said he hasn't made one like that before, meaning with that handle and blade profile.

Vince pretty much nailed it. Roy like the frame on one of my trappers and the blade out of another. I just combine the two.

As far as I'm concerned, you and Bret make some of the most beautiful slipjoints available anywhere. Probably is, when I guy like me starts off with his first knife from either one of you guys, it makes it tough to find a better maker, not to mention, finding two better guys to do business with.

I carry one of Bret's knives everyday.

I like to collect custom fixed blade knives and have many from Menefee and a few from Bret Dowell. but this is my first custom slipjoint and I think I picked one of the best guys to make it for me. Honestly, it was nothing more than a coin toss to have Rick or Bret make it for me. The second one I ordered from Bret, which is coming by the end of the month, is a Trapper with a fluted bolster, Barbwire micarta with an inlaid Federal Shield.
