Bret Dowell Knives

Got this one in the mail today and I'm thrilled beyond words. Fit and finish are perfect, zero gap around shield, spring is dead flush in all three positions, blade grind is perfect and razor sharp. Can't thank Bret Dowell enough. You're the man, Bret !!!!!

Thank you! Yes, it's 3-5/8 and there's a lot of blade in a very compact frame

Just got my pic from Bret that my Barbwire Serpentine Trapper is done. Thought I'd share the pic here with my fellow knife nuts !!!! In keeping with my tradition of not leaving well enough alone, I asked Bret if he could do a saber grind on the ol blade profile.

Wow, that grind is amazing.

Very nice, The 4" serpentine trapper is one of my favorite work knives. What is the closed length? Bret, what is the frame based on? It looks different than the one Rick uses. It also looks very "handy". Great Oklahoma cutter. -Izzy

Bret told me that it would be a hair over 4" closed. Basically I just told Bret that I wanted a Trapper that had a completely rounded back on it as I just don't care for the looks of the ones that have a slight point where the radius stops where the blade will sit when the knife is closed. I don't know what that's called so that's the best way I can describe it. I realize that a lot of patterns call for that so to speak. I attached a pic of what I was referring to and this is a beautiful knife regardless.

The serpentine is 4 1/16''. I really like this knife. Its just the second one I've built. Baker got the first. Might just have to put the next one in my pocket. haha

Bret, that saber grind looks fantastic! Nicely done my friend. The Serpentine Trapper feels great when cutting, fits perfect
in hand. It's the perfect size as well, big but not to darn big! Hard to beat... Thanks for mine buddy! and you need to make yourself one...lol
